Lot 72 is tag 431M. He is a two year old out of TQ Jimmi with TQ McLintock on the dam side. BW EPD of -1.2 and a CED of 11. His dam teat score is a 9.

He is a balanced, moderate two year old with calving ease numbers you do not always see on the cow bull end of the sale. If you want a mature bull that is not going to cause you problems at calving, he is worth a look. May 2nd, 1:30 PM at the ranch north of Chamberlain.

When you pull in on May 2nd you will have time to walk the pens before we get started at 1:30. The bulls are sorted by lot number so you can find what you are looking for and take your time. Nobody is rushing you and nobody is going to fast talk you into anything.

When we are ready to start, the crowd picks which bull sells first. That bull sells, then the crowd picks the next one. The price is negotiated right there between us, no auctioneer in the middle. We have been doing it this way for 13 years and it works well for everybody. Bring your trailer and head home with your bulls the same day. The vet will be on site for health papers.

A calf that cannot nurse in the first hour is a problem nobody needs. We have been selecting hard against poor udders and bad teats for 30 years and the results show up in the daughters our bulls produce.

The Angus Association recently released udder and teat EPDs and we think they are accurate in our herd. It is one more way we can show you what you are actually buying. May 2nd, 1:30 PM at the ranch north of Chamberlain.

The bulls we sell are only as good as the cows behind them. We have spent 30 years selecting for good feet, great udders, and cows that keep producing without a lot of help from you.

Over 75% of our cowherd traces back to one cow, tagged N56, who raised calves until she was 14, got flushed, raised another one at 16, and maintained her udder and condition until the day she died at nearly 18. That kind of longevity does not happen by accident. This is not a picture of N56 but possibly our next grand matriarch. D67 is 12 years old and the dam of two of our herd sires. May 2nd, 1:30 PM at the ranch.

Sale is Saturday. Every yearling bull on this sale has a negative birth weight EPD. Lot 1 comes in at -6.1 and even the highest lot on the yearling end is only -0.4. The two-year-olds range from -3.4 to 1.8 birth weight EPD. That is not an accident. That is 30 years of selecting for calving ease across the board.

90 Angus bulls and 10 Hereford bulls sell May 2nd at 1:30 PM at the ranch north of Chamberlain.

We have never chased a fad and we do not plan to start. Moderate frames, calving ease, easy fleshing, quiet dispositions. That was the goal when we started and it is still the goal today.

The Angus breed has seen a lot of trends come and go in 30 years. We just kept our heads down and kept breeding the same kind of cattle. No pulling chains, just live calves with vigor. May 2nd, 1:30 PM at the ranch north of Chamberlain.

This is a family operation in the most literal sense. Three generations on the ranch full time, Charlie and Tanya, their daughter Courtney and her husband Jonathan and their two children, Rosalie and Henry Tyrrell.

There are six Totton grandchildren now, all of them know their way around cattle. When we say we take this seriously, that is what we mean. May 2nd, 1:30 PM at the ranch north of Chamberlain.

This is the 13th Annual Totton Angus Bull Sale. We started this thing 13 years ago because we wanted to sell bulls our way, directly to the ranchers who would use them, without a lot of middlemen or marketing in between.

That has not changed. May 2nd, 1:30 PM at the ranch north of Chamberlain.

We have been at this long enough to know that every operation is a little different. Some customers are running heifers and need the lowest birth weight bull they can find. Some are running mature cows and want to add a little more performance without giving up calving ease.

What does your operation look like right now and what are you shopping for this year? Drop it in the comments. We are always glad to point people in the right direction before sale day.
