46 Fun Facts about Jim's Farmers Market ....FINAL 10.....come out and celebrate with us NOW! Jim's Birthday Bash

36. Markets have a long tradition. World civilizations with farmers markets date back to 5000 BC. In Chambersburg, the market used to be in the center of town. Then, the market moved to the Market House at the corner of 2nd and Queen; (today the location of the Borough Hall). Jim’s is the continuation of that tradition as a town market.
37. Farmers markets are about fresh food and equally so, about community. Vendors, growers, and the shopping public all come together week after week. Farmers markets are their own neighborhoods.
38. Brian and Leanne Zoeller bought Jim’s Farmers Market in September 2022, making what is old, new again.
39. The Jim’s logos pay homage to its railroad history, The “I” in the Jim’s text is a railroad spike and the Jim’s shield logo is a drawing of the South East corner of the Roundhouse building with the words “FARMERS MARKET” outlined in railroad tracks.
40. The Jim’s logos were designed by Brian’s former high school classmate and local graphic designed, Dustin Fritz.
41. Lotus Bowl opened their second Chambersburg location inside Jim’s in February 2024.
42. A rear addition (formerly the “Auction Barn”) was renovated in 2025 to create a new dining area and enlarge the booth for Country Heritage Kitchen.
43. Broken Sprocket Seafood joined the Market in 2026
44. Jim’s serves as an incubator for small businesses to grow. Locally, Veroni Café started at Jim’s before opening their own brick and mortar location,
45. Paul and Rhonda Clemmer have been vendors since Jim’s first opened in 1980. Over the years, they’ve run the produce booth, owned the entire market, and now run the Healthy Living booth.
46. Jim’ Farmers Market is having a birthday party on June 19 to celebrate 46 years at the Roundhouse.
