Don Guerra, Tucson’s Hispanic Business Man of the Year, is the owner/baker of Barrio Bread. With over 32 years of experience, he creates delicious, naturally fermented breads using a French method with wild yeast. Sweet corn season is here — and this week’s deliveries are bringing it straight to your doorstep. 🌽

Corn is one of those crops that changes fast after harvest. The natural sugars start converting to starch almost immediately, which is why truly fresh corn tastes noticeably sweeter, juicier, and more tender than what’s been sitting in transit.

That’s part of why we love sourcing it while it’s actually in season.

Whether you’re throwing it on the grill, slicing it into salads, folding it into tacos, or just adding butter and sea salt, summer corn doesn’t need much to stand out.

If you like Claussen Dill pickles, then you need to try this recipe below!

Sliced cucumbers
2-3 Sliced Garlic Cloves
Fresh Dill
Handful of any Peppercorn Blend
Handful of mustard seeds

Brine:
2 cups water
11/2 cups white vinegar
1/4 cup kosher salt
1 tsp sugar

Bring brine to a low boil until sugar and salt are dissolved.

Pour Brine over everything in a mason jar then seal and store in fridge.

Taste after 2-3 days in fridge!

Pastured birds are moved around an actual pasture several times a day, get to see actual sunlight, and have plenty of space to do all their favorite chicken activities with their feathered friends.
