Iβll be honest, the first pie I ever ate was likely sometime in my 20s. Such an American dessert, pies and baked goods were not a part of my upbringing. π₯§πͺπ§ Steamed or shaved ice dessertsβ¦those were more in line with what I was used to. π‘π§ So Iβm thankful for recipes, baking books/videos, food science and every resource that taught me how to be a baker. π©π»βπ³To this day, I am loyal to recipes from . Thatβs where my spin on a praline topping came from. The pie crust, well, she keeps improving with each bake, so much so I HAD TO include the second photo displaying all the flaky layers I achieved this Thanksgiving. She is sturdy. She is buttery. She is flaky. Thank you for a solid recipe. As for the Tahini-Chai Pumpkin Pie, that came from , a halva/tahini business insisted I try my first visit to New York. Iβve been in love with it since. I get it when I go to New York. I ship it to myself as a treat and even mail it to friends as gifts in other parts of the nation. Stunning recipeβ¦Iβm pleased I got to share it with others. Anyways, this is my way of saying Iβve come a long way as a self-taught baker. You can learn anything. Itβs a wonderful thing. I hope your holidays have been wonderful and will continue to be.
