Just so there is no confusion, Azadi Farms is no longer in operation. The universe had other plans. I'm still gardening, albeit on a small, family size scale and will be starting another page where I can indulge my passion and help others with their gardening adventures.

Also finished bed 6. I'll start mixing soil tomorrow and get 5 & 6 filled up. They're wider than the other beds too.

It was a beautiful 77 degrees this morning as I finished setting block on bed 5. I'll mix up soil after I let the compost cook a couple more days (it really is 145 degrees) and load up bed 5.
Got the timer/soaker installed on Bed 4 and it's happy, just doing its thing.

Working on bed 5...digging it out then setting block. Going to start basil, dill, broccoli, kale and oregano in small pots to sell at farmers market. The 4 other beds are just doing their thing.

Reseeded Chiogga Beets in bed 1. Ants munched most of the first sprouts...but the ant problem is greatly reduced after hitting their main colony with DE, peppermint spray and boric acid/sugar mix.
Also, bed 4 is sown with mixed greens and parsley. Still have some room in there...cucumbers? Rutabagas? Kohlrabi? Suggestions?

We're trying to decide if offering produce, based on the CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) model, would be a viable direction for the farm.
For an annual fee, we would provide a box of assorted organic, pestictide/herbicide free, (season appropriate) produce on a weekly basis as harvest permits.
If this is something that enough folks would be interested in, I'll put together some info for them.
I'll have you list your faves then grow the most popular (and maybe some funky, different things...like popcorn or 20 lb. pink banana squashes). And maybe have classes about composting/vermiculture or organic pest management. (We took care of those pesky ants, by the way :-D) or an idea of yours.
