It is almost time! Almost time for the weekly Sunday Plainfield Farmers Market!

Not sure which market to go to during this busy market season? Make it out to Plainfield public library every Sunday starting June 7th!

I will be cutting fresh Microgreens right from the tray into a container. Does not get any more fresh than that!

I am also planning on bringing packs of edible flowers for chefs and dessert artists. I will bring what I can and hope to have a few packs each week for sale in the cooler, just ask if you do not see them.

There are dozens of other great vendors out there including regular farm produce and artisan products.

You have to try one of these Acai bowls while shopping the market, life changing! lol

I am bringing 15 trays and hope to sell out, if so, I will keep upping the number and I can learn in real time what to bring more of or less as the market goes on.

Edible Flowers! 3 packs available! Comment or text me if you can meet locally and want to grab a pack or two! I have two packs of larger marigold flower heads and one pack of mostly viola/pansy varieties with some smaller marigolds. The marigold packs have at least 40 flower heads and the mixed pansy/viola/marigold pack has at least 50 heads. If you can meet today, I will throw in last week's pack that I never sold. I still have a pack from 2 weeks ago in the fridge and it still looks great! These last longer than I anticipated!

Get these while they last, as I will only be selling them when available at the Plainfield Farmers Market moving forward.

I have edible flowers available for anyone local. I do not have customers come to the farm for pickup, rather we would meet locally in Channahon or Minooka. Freshly cut packs are $25.
Packs include 50 flower heads from marigolds, pansy, and violas. The marigolds are a little larger but still small enough to use for plating, drinks, cake decorating, ice cubes, etc.

If you would like to schedule a day and time to meet locally, please reach out or drop a comment below. Limited availability.

Packs should last at least a week in the refrigerator kept in their container with the damp paper towel.

The next delivery cycle is scheduled for May 24th which is Memorial Day weekend. I am planning on doing all regular scheduled deliveries but inquiring if anyone is going to be out of town or unable to accept their order in two weeks due to the holiday. Please let me know asap if you will be needing to pause your recurring order.

After that, delivery day will be switching back to Thursdays. I will extend the next cycle after the 24th to June 11th. Every two weeks starting on the 11th.

You also now can pick up fresh packs every Sunday starting June 7th at the Plainfield Farmers Market.

Next delivery: Sunday May 24th 4-6pm
After that:
Local deliveries: Thursday evenings 4-6pm
Local market: Sunday 11am-3pm. Plainfield

Edible flowers are back!

First look at 2026's Edible Flower crop from The Microgreen Kitchen. A lot of blue and purple colors are being covered by the mountain of yellow and red but there is a good mix of color here, nothing that wouldn't look great on any dish or drink! This pack has about 60-70 flowers in it and is priced at $25.

Is there anyone local (Minooka/Channahon) that is waiting on edible flowers? I am not at full production yet and the trial run crops have been producing great looking edible flowers but I only will have one or two packs a week until all of these younger plants are mature, then I should be able to advertise them available. Until then, it would be ideal to find someone who wants them regardless of when the next batch will be available. I am on the fence on what to charge as I know most commercial growers sell them for under $20 per 50ct. container. I am a small local farm growing them without pesticides or harsh chemicals. I think they are worth $25 per container but will try and make them more affordable when I can. Right now I am going to charge $25 per clamshell with at least 50 1-2" flower heads. You should not even need to trim these and simply put them on anything and you have a masterpiece, that's how awesome these things make anything look! The first person to offer me $25 will have this pack reserved and I will cut them down today or tmrw. Let me know if you are interested by dropping a comment and I will reach out. So I doubt this option will work for many people but I will offer it as this will likely be a semi-permanent occurrence for delivery days....

If you live outside the 10 mile free delivery radius...

you have a couple options...

a. Plainfield Farmers Market every Sunday starting June 7th from 11-3pm. I will be cutting live for each customer ( please excuse any wait times, I will need to stay sanitary and cut each order as it comes in while vending the tables by myself.

b. Public meetup locations:

Sundays (currently; likely moving to Thursdays in June)

Lockport: KRW Performance Auto Shop off State St. between 2-3pm. (exact times will be discussed via text)

Minooka: Dollar General off Mondamin at 4pm.

Both of these locations are on my delivery route, I bring a large amount for a group of individuals out to Lockport now so I can meet anyone who would like to pickup their order in Lockport at my buddy's auto shop. I head into Lockport first and then start the route at Dollar General in Minooka (not Channahon). You are welcome to meet me at either parking lot at a specific time. Will always be 4pm at Dollar General while the Lockport time will vary but will be discussed and locked in at least 24 hrs in advance.

I hope this helps anyone who can easily make one of those locations work on those day and times. Thank you all in advance!

(pro tip: getting your greens from me through delivery or pickup (not @ market) will ensure you have the highest quality and longest lasting product I have to offer. When sourcing them at the market, there may be times they are more or less dry which will slightly affect the shelf life. So the advantage definitely goes to the delivery/ pickup options. Don't worry though, you can always dry the packs out by slipping a folded paper towel inside the clamshell!)
