Hello Bite Squad
As some of you may have noticed I've been a little quiet lately. This season I've been focusing on reflection; on the business, on my goals and passions, and on my personal life. I started Bites by Sam in 2020 with no expectations. I didn't think that this would be anything more than a side gig that I would do to keep me from going insane at my full-time job.
The Pandemic changed all of that. It gave me the opportunity to turn Bites by Sam into a career. An unexpected and chaotic one, but a career that I loved. Being a small-business owner means that I'm working all the time, in a lot of ways that I didn't anticipate. I've become a speed pie box folder, a graphic designer, and a reluctant morning person.
Unfortunately, this reflection also happened around the same time that my mother became ill. She was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer and I've turned all of my attention to spending time with her. I would have loved to continue the markets until the end of the season and say goodbye to all of you but my priority is with my family right now.
I want to thank each and every one of you for supporting me throughout this journey. I hope to be able to continue Bites by Sam in some small way once things in my personal life get to a new normal.
