I had a friend stop me in the grocery store and ask for any biscuit tricks. Here are a few!
🌟 I always add my dry ingredients to my food processor, give it a few pulses, then add the butter and give it a few more. Adding the butter this way keeps it cold and mixes it in so well!
🌟This house only uses salted butter for EVERYTHING!
🌟 I pour the mixture into my bowl, make a well in the middle, then add my buttermilk. I always mix by hand, I like to feel the consistency. 🤷‍♀️
🌟When it's ready I pad it with my hands, then fold in thirds 6 times. Don't ask me why 6 is the magic number, it just is! 😅
🌟 I usually use a wide mouth canning ring to cut the biscuits. This time I used a regular and regretted it..... we like big biscuits for breakfast sandwiches all week!
🌟 Never twist the cutter/ring. This seals the edges and the biscuits don't rise as high. Just push straight down and pick up.
🌟 I love baking biscuits in my cast iron. I DO preheat the oven to 425, but I DO NOT preheat the skillet. A baking sheet works well, too.
🌟 Brush the tops with melted butter as soon as they come out of the oven!

When your zucchini is planted in 4ft tall raised beds, growing out the top of the tomato cages..... how exactly am I supposed to reach zucchini that is 9ft in the air?! 😂

Sitting in the shade, a little breeze blowing, and the best view while shucking corn on the back patio last night. THIS is what it's all about. So thankful for this life!

Roasted cauliflower!
This is our favorite way to cook up all the cauliflower from the garden (or store). Even my teenager likes it!
Here's how:
Preheat the oven to 425. Wash and separate the florets into bite size pieces, pat dry. Put them all into a gallon bag, then add: about 3tbsp olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic, and Paprika to taste (you can add parmesan cheese if you want!). Shake it up really well, making sure all pieces are coated. Pour on a lined baking sheet, then pop into the oven for about 15 minutes or until the edges turn crispy! So so good! Trust me!!
