Folks, we are approaching 20% bloom. We are giving them a little drink this evening. We are using our backup tractor and we need to be careful with the old JD....

We will have some special hours this weekend and we will likely hold over the pricing from the poppy fields since this is a patch, not a field. We will have around 1.25 acres. Wasn't it nice of the deer to only eat 1.75 acres....

Folks, things are now just peachy perfect in Scotland. I got my first of what I hope to be several batches of peaches from Trossbach Produce.

With this year being so upside-down, it's nice to taste this familiar summertime taste.

Pretty sunset tonight. We will have some special hours this weekend. I anticipate the flowers approaching peak bloom by Saturday. This is a sunflower patch, not a big field. We will adjust our hours and price accordingly. Our loss is your gain I guess. Hard to open a field knowing you are just trying to cut your losses. Deer....who needs them!?!?!

Folks, this is interesting information. The soil moisture estimates were from before this most recent rainfall....but this shows you how far down the toilet (waterless toilet, haha) we are with this drought.

We are considering special hours for pop up openings, for our first sunflower "patch" this weekend. We are calling it a "patch" because it no longer meets our definition of a "field"...because of the deer.

But it just so happens the drought has made the flowers the perfect height for photos and as of now the quality is above average....

So we will see....

Well we got 1/2 inch! I'll take it. A few days of moisture and I wont be irrigating until mid week now.

Folks.....frustrating. We have had a year of obstacles so far. And the zinnias need weeding....and I think this medication makes you sun sensitive.

This is a precautionary treatment for a nasty tick bite. The origin of the tick is unknown, but it hid from me for several days I suspect, which makes me think it could have come from Waldorf (the timing is right...though maybe Waldorf ticks are also better at hiding).....those Waldorf ticks pack a mean punch....But in reality, it could have come from 2 or 3 places in Charles or St. Mary's County.

Lets make sure you help Ole Jerry out by being on your best behavior when you visit. As we are winding down the scheduled shoots that were planned back before we closed for a few weeks, we are still having a few issues. Please respect these signs.

The straw that breaks Ole Jerry's back isn't far away. We have had a humdinger of a year with poor communication on my part, accidental and intentional trespassing. I'm exhausted. Is it time to throw in the towel for 2026?
