G.A.R. Horizons

G.A.R. Horizons proudly raising and selling local frozen meats & promoting other local goods. online ordering and delivery available. "Know where it's grown"

We are a small farm in the township of Hambden! Started in 2009, have been growing since. We wanted to be able to grow our own food to know what goes into it. No use of hormones, steroids or any other additives. Our animals are raised indoors and outdoors. Pigs are inside, with much room to roam, during the snowy months but then able to run around, as they should, outside when weather is nicer. Be

ef cows have accessibility to the outdoors whenever. Pork sales have been our main thing. We have whole or half hogs for sale June- January. We started raising beef cows in 2013. In warm months, our meat birds have access to the outdoors, they then sleep enclosed during the night so that raccoons, fox or coyotes can not get to them. You can buy pieces parts of these meats or large quantities. We grind and mix our own feed here at the farm. We will answer any questions you may have ! Honesty is the best policy. Know where it's grown.

Today was a great day with a fellow farm-her attending a Women in Agriculture Conference.

Courtney and her husband own Spencer’s Farm in Conneaut selling freezer meats at their home farm store. If that's in your neck of the woods, go check 'em out.

Courtney's husband saved me one day hauling corn and then Ohio Farm Bureau brought us all together!

Together with Farmers.
Farming doesn't have to be a competition, we are all out here doing what we love - feeding the world 🚜

Two hearts with one dream πŸ’š
Here at G.A.R. we are one couple feeding animals and tending to the daily operations.

With all the insecurities in the world, it is important to know where your food comes from. Find yourself a local farm in this minor percentage, selling direct to consumers.

Stock your freezers, buy in bulk. This is going to be the new normal, prices will not be going down. This is not something the farmer has been able to adjust easily with either. We want food to be affordable. Will it ever stop?

We remember the reason we wake up everyday -- to feed our local community.

What a blessing it is to find locally raised foods
❀️stay thankful

Throughout the County you have maybe have seen different window displays or yard displays promoting our counties 4-H groups.

We are proud alumni and supporters of our local 4-h groups πŸ€

You can support 4H by purchasing candy bars, coming soon! And don't forget, your local County Fair where these kids show off their projects. This is not just livestock related. "Other project topics include clothing, cooking, gardening, natural resources, leadership, healthy living, and much more. "

"Head, Heart, Hands, and Health are the four Hs in 4‑H, and they are the four values members work on through fun and engaging programs."
