Three generations of chicken catchers wrapped up our 2024 poultry season last month. These beautiful birds will be feeding 40+ families for Thanksgiving that may otherwise not have had access to a nutritious meal. ❤️

Woodside Story

We grew up in Butler County, Iowa and lived in Indianapolis for 5 years after college, where we became involved in our local food system. In 2018, we bought an acreage in Northeast Iowa with the hopes of growing and producing enough for our family. We started with chickens, then goats, and now a very large garden that we hope to share with our community. Mallory, who grew up in Allison, currently works with the non-profit Healthy Harvest of North Iowa as the Food Access Project Coordinator and is the Owner/Operator of Woodside Marketing, which specializes in helping local agriculture businesses with their websites and media. Charles grew up in Greene, IA and is currently Site Manager at a Wind Farm. He is the brains and the brawn behind Woodside Acres. His dream is to be completely self-reliant. Together, we have two young kids; Matilda and Raymond.
