Trumpet and maitake harvest today We grow 7 varieties of mushrooms Maitake used to be the hardest now I’d say trumpet has presented the most issues. Fingers crossed we got this thing where we want it. Yields and morphology are the name of the game. An early harvest preserves the product. We’re doing our best to bring you the best each and every day. I’m here 7 days a week making sure my chefs and market patrons get the highest and best quality I can do!

We are the only local maitake purveyors in town. Large high quality clusters, full beautiful fronds . These are great maitake, one of the most flavorful mushrooms full of medicinal benefits as well!

Mission Accomplished…..we made some big moves in January. Got our USDA certification that allows us to sell to major distributors and retailers. The last six months have been the hardest. From getting the loans to finding a home and then doing the buildout essentially solo to engineering the correct room dynamics to getting this certification it’s been a challenging road. Overcame everything and we’re poised to take on even more. You can bet we’ve got more to do on the horizon. You never fully climb the mountain, but I’ve hit a plateau here and will enjoy the view for a while! Stay cultured

Here’s your daily dose of mushroom magic….bug ol chonks of lions mane just the way you like em. Lions mane increases NGF and BDNGF that’s why we love em so much for those brain boosting benefits. My favorite and the old standby is the crab cake. It’s very delicious put it on your list of things to try next year or come see us . Markets are over for a while but you can still get all of our mushrooms here! Year round. They don’t play when it comes to supporting local.

It’s been a task but we’re getting these beautiful golden enokis to pin the entire top of the block now! How good are those guys gonna look in a ramen bowl? It’s our version of a micro green. These boys look amazing on the plate I’m telling you. Shouts out to ol for always making them look so dang good.

Some king trumpets destined for our friends at . It’s widely known we craft the best oysters in Charleston but did you also know we make some great King Trumpets? I’ve been at the mercy of growing things in one room for too long. That only allowed me to keep these guys in rotation at certain times of the year at middling quality. That is no longer the case we can have these guys at the highest level in large quantities every week now. Week after week we bring the best quality and the most consistency. We are no longer a small operation underdog. The goal has always been to become the best we can. The constraints have been eliminated. Only highest quality at Super Mushroom Bros we are constantly refining our methods and getting better protocol, equipment and sops everyday. Each week our mushroom get introduced to new techniques and strategies until we get it to the highest level. We’ve taken some big strides here lately. Every year I reinvest a large portion of revenue back into the operation. I’d of loved to do the first class items right off the rip, but hey, starting at the top isnt realistic most of the time and the fun is in the climb. We bootstrapped this thing no investors no grants. We are the preeminent provider of mushrooms in the area. It took five years of constant improvement and 7 day work weeks to get there but we now have the most consistent and highest quality mushrooms in Charleston. The proof is in the mushrooms.
