On my mind lately 💭
Social media is such a gift but there’s also a lot on here that is leading people astray.

I believe if you’re curious about God or Jesus the first place isn’t church the first place is to open a Bible (specifically the new testament) God is going to speak to you. If you are worried you won’t understand it’s not about you “understanding” it’s about you opening is word and letting HIM speak to you! Read with an open heart and open mind.

You will understand what it means to be hungry for the word

Putting Jesus at the center of our family, our speech, our conversations has completely transformed our family.
We have always been believers but we didn’t necessarily live for him (when I first met Shane it was his entire identity and every aspect of his life). As we have passed through seasons of life we slowly drifted. But our Father called us home. To live in alignment and be reminded that we are the rightness of God in Jesus.

Random thoughts:
•I’ve seen my marriage strengthened
•My kids turn to Jesus with every blessing and struggle. They thank him for the good and pray with His power for their healing.
•Praying in spirit is sooooo powerful I mean I have never seen God move so quickly with every ask every prayer as he does when I simply give it to him and pray in the spirit.
• I see so clearly how the devil has worked his way into all of our speech to constantly cast curses over over life (complaining becoming the main focus of people’s conversations)
• Reading the Bible without external influences has opened dialogue with the Father himself
• Shane is my favorite pastor and I literally thank God that he placed him so close to me in this life I get access all day every day. Living with a husband who leads his family to the kingdom makes things easy.
• Living in a state of prayer and conversation with God will make life feel so smooth.
• God delights in filling our requests
• We love him because he loved us first in all of our brokenness and imperfections.

I wanna say more but my kids are calling me

Rest in Him. The work is done. It is peace. It is perfection because he is perfect.

Thoughts lately.
Not letting myself feed negativity or complain.
That means not feeding into others.
My goal in life is to be contagiously positive so that when you’re around you leave feeling better!
That’s my God shining though. I think that’s my purpose. Be a light.

The other day I was listening to a song that was talking about how Jesus is the only one who knows our truest self. The parts of our self we would never dare to admit out loud. He knows the pain we carry. He knows our burdens. He has walked with us through every moment of life. He meets us in the struggle and pulls us out because he loves us even with our darkest parts.

Current day therapy doesn’t turn you towards Jesus. It turns you towards your works. A therapist doesn’t say “spend time in his presence, spend time in his word, go to a place alone in silence and unload your burdens on him.” No therapy says YOU are in power and in control. If they encouraged you to spend time with your Savior you wouldn’t need them. You keep going back to therapy because strength isn’t found in you, it’s found in Him. And if we’re being honest with ourselves we will never share all our deepest truths with a therapist. Jesus knows it all and he still loves you, he loves us more than we could ever imagine. He loves you without works. With all your brokenness. His love and flavor is free to us. Jesus knows your place, your purpose, your potential.

We have to be willing to let go of the ego and admit we cannot do it on our own.

Wrote this yesterday. The silence is where he speaks to us. Some of us stay distracted with people, phones, music, podcasts, tv but never sit quietly with him. We’re begging for a sign, for him to speak to us but we never give the space for him to show up.
It doesn’t matter what we look like to the world, if it looks like we’re doing all the “right” things. If you don’t have a relationship with HIM then none of that matters. He only cares about the relationship. You can’t expect someone to show up for you if you don’t show up for them.

I can’t believe I ever thought the best life was partying, drinking and being selfish.
I can confirm THIS is actually the BEST LIFE!
There was a point in my life I didn’t want kids.
There was a point in my life I only wanted to live in a big city.
There was a point in my life I didn’t want to be married.
There was a point in my life I only did what I wanted without considering others or consequences for my actions.

I can promise you this is it. This is how you know you made it. True wealth. I made it. I’m so happy. God said *I know what you really want* and provided above and beyond.
This morning i got to wake up and snuggle opal and sage on the couch. After a while we went outside to check on the ducks. Baby duckling snuggles will heal. Then we did some homeschooling and opal played her new song she’s learning on piano while sage and I built a habitat for this baby toad Shane found. Then I was starving and opened our fridge to some of the very best protein bars on the planet that hit the spot every time. Got some sniffs and snuggles from Sunny while I rolled out. Then had a killer leg day because this body is healthy and strong and I have an even stronger husband who can spot me and write me amazing workouts!

All of this by Gods hands. Simply the best!

Once I became a parent I had a new perspective for my own parents. How they must feel. The unwavering love. The fleeting moments. The pain and joy of watching a child grow up.
American society has this weird obsession with kids growing up faster. Pushing childhood shorter and shorter. Parents missing the depth of their children’s childhood because we’re busy rushing them about l, putting them in daycare or school or tons of activities. Then suddenly in a blink, their childhood is gone and we only know them as adults.
Don’t rush it.
For me I plan to steep in it. Like a really good cup of tea. I want to know I really enjoyed every moment of their childhood.

Happy birthday to the man who turns our world round
You are at our center and the reason we are able to live this beautiful life
You carry this whole family on your back, up a hill, with roller blades on, with no breaks, while I hold a rock on my back. You get the point - you sacrifice everything for us and not a day goes by that we aren’t thankful for everything you do!
Thank you for being the best father to our children!
36 years! You know I love numerology so this year represents the focus on your spirit while working on your dreams and goals in life. The number 36 is a year to focus on your divine life and how well you can nourish it. Life is not all about materialistic things, but the core of life stems from having a great relationship with God. It would help if you struck a balance between working hard to make something out of your life and nourishing your soul with good energy from the divine realm!
