For me, it has been a long and difficult road starting the first legal distillery in the City of Charleston. We opened our doors in March of 2019, and by March of 2020, the world shut down. So many achievements, so many firsts, and so many different people. We have been so lucky to have served customers from each and every state in the country. That is definitely something I am proud of. Also, serving customers from approximately 35 counties from around the world is pretty mind blowing to me. And never did I expect to win any type of awards for products, some of which I created the recipes myself. Truth be told, I only entered the first competition, Las Vegas Global Spirits Competition because they somehow found out I converted all my distilled products into hand sanitizer during the covid pandemic and offered me a free entry (we won silver).
Fast forward to February 2024 and here we are, at a major crossroads. Over the last 2 years the area we are located has suffered an exodus of commercial tenants ( approximately 14 have closed or relocated for whatever reasons) and with the city's shift to focus their efforts towards the Slack Plaza / Brawley Walkway area, we have really been struggling to bring people away from these focal points. We opened to serve customers directly rather than mass produce and sell through distribution. Space limitations have also hindered us somewhat as we continue to add new products.
So, with all this being said, I have made the difficult decision to close our downtown distillery / Gift Shop. My plan is to try and find a location that is either more aligned with the city's focused areas, or maybe one of our neighboring cities. Honestly, I don't know what the future holds. But let's hope for the best.
Thanks to everyone out there that has supported us in any way. Your support was the driving force behind what we do here. Keep checking in every now and again and look for updates as to our next steps.

Watching .official.moonshiners making moonshine from beer. Takes me back to July, 2020 when I made my second batch of BeerShine with beer from . Both batches turned out great. Most unique spirits ever.

We are looking for someone with retail items (art, crafts, deserts) who would be interested in setting up full time (don't have to be here full time, just as a permanent vendor) to setup inside of our tasting room. Crafters, makers, folks who sell at festivals or flea markets, people like that. Ideally someone who would want to get their products on the shelf in their own dedicated section of the distillery. Basically your own retail space, at a greatly reduced rate.

One last chance to get our holiday Spiked Candy Cane before the year ends. We will be closed New Years Eve. Our second batch of Hooch's Peach Moonshine has sold out.

Unfortunately, we won't be able to make any more until peaches are back in season as we try to source our fruits locally.
