MEET THE TEAM - Our last week of “Meet the Team” ends with our fearless leader Benton Montgomery, GrowFood Carolina Director!

Benton has been with GrowFood since day one, starting out as a delivery driver. Over the past 15 years, he’s climbed the ladder and contributed immensely to the growth and evolution of the program.

His day-to-day varies, but is always centered around the same mission: supporting local agriculture and strengthening our community. Benton works closely with our team and the folks at the to keep local food systems growing and accessible, and to continue pushing that mission forward.

Fun Fact: As a kid, Benton won a goldfish at the State Fair and somehow kept it alive for 15 years. To this day, he’s convinced it holds the world record for longest-living carnival goldfish.

(He also is a good sport about putting up with our occasional office karaoke sessions, which I’m pretty sure was not in the job description 🪩🥬)
