One way to spend a trip in the “Holy City” is to dine at a renovated 150- year old church turned into a fantastic and popular restaurant. This unique place is called Church and Union which has a mural of a five dollar bill with an Abraham Lincoln that has 3 heads of him on it. The ceiling is painted with the whole book of “The Art of War” all over it. There are other murals painted throughout the restaurant that are so impressive in its own way. Our server’s name was Bailey who was fantastic and super helpful at telling us about the history of the church. One of the chefs named Melissa came out to talk to us, took a picture with me, and even asked me what my dreams are in the future for me. Our food was so delicious that I described each dish to you like you were there with us in the moment.
French onion Agnolotti - This tiny dish was shareable and delicious!! It was topped with an allium crunch and Gruyère.
Nola shrimp - Perfectly sautéed shrimp glazed with Nola sauce all on top of toasted sourdough bread.Moroccan meatballs - They're packed with delicious spices drizzled with Moroccan barbecue sauce all on top of whipped feta cheese, marinated cucumber, and gremolata. This plate was a huge portion but definitely my favorite appetizer out of all of them. Maryland Crab Cakes - This plate came with a helping of clam chowder and cornbread which my mom absolutely loved and ate every bit of it. These crab cakes went perfect with the chili oil drizzled on top of the dish. Fried chicken and jalapeño cornbread - This meal came with Alabama white sauce and pickles which I dipped into the crispy chicken every time I took a bite. The cornbread was fluffy and the white sauce was creamy. It is also one of the seasonal items on their fall menu. Handmade braided ravioli - My grandma ordered this and found out it is their most popular item on the menu. It was topped with garlic tomato sauce, capers, Italian sausage, and Parmesan cheese. The pasta was fresh while the filling inside the pasta was super creamy and flavorful.

My inspiration has always been Guy Fieri who owns Flavortown Kitchen and Chicken Guy!! His shows are Guy’s Grocery Games and Diners, Drive - ins, and Dives. Recently, I got to meet him in Port St. Lucie and it was an experience I will never forget!! Thank you to Wes Harbin for taking me and you are the best dad ever!!!

I recently visited the newest restaurant in Fort Pierce called Island Pig and Fish. As you walk in, you get a vibe that is both coastal and rustic showcasing art from local artists. Our server, Amelio, suggested his favorite items from the menu. He also shared some of his secrets to make each dish burst with flavor. The owners, Taylor Shull and Dean Dupuis, are longtime friends and have always wanted to open a restaurant together. Their popular combination of bbq and seafood with a southern twist has people always coming back for more.

Whether you are a Florida tourist or a local, one of my favorite restaurants in this state is Backwater!! It is a breakfast and lunch spot that is so unique and mesmerizing!!! Their food is amazing and their pancakes are the bomb with your choice of a variety of toppings!!! This place is a must visit if you are in Brevard County and you won’t regret it!!!!

Hi it’s Jackson and I just went to Chive for Wing Wednesday!! I had 10 mild wings with ranch and they were amazing!! I can’t wait to be back again and again for their fantastic wings!!!
