Night one of my quest to perfect the Caipirinha.
Minor issue: I didn’t have any limes.
So… Sprite and a splash of juice stepped in as emergency substitutes. Which, if we’re being honest, turned it into a completely different cocktail.
Was it authentic? Not even a little.
Was it still good? Absolutely.
The upside is now I have a perfectly valid excuse to buy more limes and give it another shot tomorrow.
Sometimes the best cocktail recipes are just happy little detours.

Little Book is the bourbon equivalent of showing up to a black-tie event in a tuxedo and then casually reminding everyone you arrived in a helicopter.

Is it necessary?
Absolutely not.

Do we want it anyway?
Also absolutely yes.

May we suggest treating yourself to the bottle you were hoping someone else would buy for you.

Hope all the dads had a great Father’s Day and that, for once, somebody got you the good s**t.

If they didn’t, it’s not because they don’t love you.

It’s because they don’t know what the good s**t is.

But you do.

Which is why I’d like to propose a new holiday: Father’s Day Observed.

The day after Father’s Day, all dads are encouraged to come in and buy themselves the bottle they were secretly hoping to unwrap yesterday.

No hints.
No disappointment.
No explaining why “small batch” and “bottom shelf” are not the same thing.

Just you, your favorite bottle, and the satisfaction of getting it right.

I think this holiday has legs.

Pickle juice and vodka.

That’s it.

Shout out to my guy Wes for turning me onto these.

What started as a simple idea at Tiger Town Tavern became one of Clemson’s most iconic drinks. Served ice cold with a whole pickle, it’s developed a cult following among Clemson students, alumni, and anyone who appreciates a cocktail that’s a little different.

And honestly, I get it.

It’s salty. It’s refreshing. It’s surprisingly addictive. The kind of drink that sounds questionable until you take that first sip.

Father’s Day is this Sunday.

You could buy Dad another tie he’ll wear twice. A golf polo that looks suspiciously like the other twelve hanging in his closet. Or a coffee mug reminding him he’s the “World’s Best Dad.”

Or…
You could get him the bottle he’s been eyeing for months but refuses to buy for himself.

The bourbon he says is “a little too expensive.”
The Scotch he’s always wanted to try.
The tequila he’d never splurge on.
The wine he orders at restaurants but never brings home.

Dad doesn’t need more stuff.
Dad needs a better pour.

You know it’s hot when that afternoon iced coffee starts looking like it could use a little supervision.

A splash of bourbon? Maybe some Irish cream? Perhaps a coffee liqueur that accidentally found its way into the glass?

We’re not here to judge. We’re here to help.
