Four years ago, just over three weeks since my arrival in the U.S., I badly wanted to eat lumpia. My rolling technique was far from perfect. I learned how to roll at an early age but never in the volume I am able to do now. I took it as a challenge to refine my rolling technique and develop a recipe of my own that’s closest to how my Dad used to make them. Three and a half years a later Lowcountry Lumpia was born. But…
We’re discontinuing this business name, and put a “pause” on selling lumpia. We are moving on to something more aligned with our true aspirations—to enter the CPG world. It’s not an easier path, just a different business model. We will launch shelf-stable products to get started and, at some point, we will bring back lumpia into the fold.
We will do a one-time sale before the end of this month. It’s a good time to stock up if you love our lumpia. It may be a while before they’re back.
We’ve received a tremendous amount of support here in Charleston and we will do our best to make our way back here.
