Wicked Roots Micro Farm

Wicked Roots Micro Farm 1 acre micro farm in Charlestown, RI. We offer fresh, organically grown produce, gifts and more

06/16/2026

I’ve been sitting on this for almost a week now. I just couldn’t find the words or take the perfect pictures to truly represent the magnitude of my appreciation.

Gift-giving becomes such a beautiful experience when it’s made by the hands of the giver.

This beautiful mug was made by one of our longtime plant sale customers. From the first time we met many years ago, sitting on the ground in front of my farm stand, digging through my seed stash in search of fun watermelon varieties, to last week, when we exchanged kind words, plants, and hugs in my driveway, Tara from has been someone I look forward to seeing every year at my annual plant sale.

She is full of talent, has an incredible love for her dogs (and shelter pups!), and a deep appreciation for nature and hiking. I couldn’t be more thankful for her friendship and support over the years.

She made this mug as a thank-you gift, and it is absolutely perfect in every way. I’m completely in love with it!

Please check out her Instagram page! She does so much for local dog shelters and shares some pretty amazing adventures with her pup. If you follow along, you’ll also catch glimpses of her beautiful pottery creations in her stories.

Thank you, Tara from the bottom of my heart, this gift means more than you know. ❤️🐓

What’s Available This Weekend?

We still have a great selection of organically grown veggie plants available including tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash, zucchini, eggplant, herbs, and more!

We’re also excited to have an amazing selection of native plants from local grower Kelsey from LadySmith Gardening, perfect for supporting pollinators and adding beauty to your landscape!

Looking for something a little different? We also have Canna Rhizomes (AKA canna bulbs/tubers) available starting at just $1 each (priced by size). With STUNNING dark burgundy foliage and vibrant orange blooms, they’re a true summer show-stopper and will multiply year after year.

Sunday looks like a great day to get outside and get your hands in the dirt. Brighten up this gloomy stretch of weather and bring home a few new garden babies!

Our plant sale is beginning to wrap up with it coming to an end Sunday June 7th! Thank you all for another wonderful kickoff to our farmstand season! We look forward to seeing all those beautiful garden photos!

Anyone else feeling behind on planting this year?

The weather here in Rhode Island has been all over the place lately. Hot days, cool nights, random rain, wind… with some cold rainy days mixed in, it’s definitely made this gardening season feel a little different. We’ve talked to so many people who are still waiting to plant, holding off on warm weather crops, or even replacing a few plants that struggled with the weird swings.

If that’s you, you are absolutely not behind 💚 There is still PLENTY of time to plant and have a beautiful, productive garden season. Honestly, a lot of warm weather crops are just starting to really establish themselves right now and a few things may have actually been stunted by going in early.

We still have lots of healthy plants available at the stand including tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash, eggplant, herbs, and more. Plenty of heirlooms, unique varieties, and special surprise we will be selling this weekend only! (Post coming tomorrow)

Gardening seasons are never exactly the same, and that’s part of the beauty of it. We’re just grateful to be growing alongside all of you and helping people build gardens at whatever pace works for them this year ☺️

This Memorial Day, we pause with gratitude and remember the brave men and women who gave everything in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the reason we are able to enjoy simple moments like gathering with family, sharing meals, and supporting one another in our community. ❤️🤍💙

We are open today for regular self-serve hours from 10am–6pm with lots of native and veggie plants available. If you have any questions, feel free to text or call we may be a little slower to respond as we’re spending the day with family.

Wishing everyone a peaceful and meaningful Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

Our second round of UNIQUES will be ready at the end of the week. They’re still a bit sensitive, and with this heat wave coming, we want to make sure they’re strong enough to handle full sun before heading off to their new homes.
