Had a fun day today. Our own little plow day running some Kuebler ground. My 2-70 needed some good work to break in the fresh overhaul, so I talked Doug into hooking on to one of my Oliver 5540 plows and I hooked to the other. I thought it would be neat having 2 White 2-70's and 2 Oliver 5540 plows working the same field. So we did. Doug got stuck 3 times so the 2-105 MFWA came to the rescue and I found 3 bolders and broke 2 points off the shears. But over all was a Sunday Funday!

2025 recap. The past season was highly productive. Will 2026 bring similar excitement with additional opportunities.

Did some math on inflation.

In October 1970 a John Deere 4020 that cost $10,000 would haul a bushel of soybeans worth $3, and feed a cow worth $372.

(Inflation adjusted to 2025)
In October 1970 a John Deere 4020 that cost $83,000 would haul a bushel of soybeans worth $25, and feed a cow worth $3,100.

(Reality in 2025)
In October 2025 a John Deere 6r 145 that cost $220,000 hauls a bushel of soybeans worth $10, and feeds a cow worth $2,900.

In conclusion -
•machinery is ridiculously overpriced
•soybeans are underpriced
•beef isn’t too expensive

It's funny how a farmer spends countless hours getting the land ready, from plowing to planting.
He spends $1000's of dollars on fuel, equipment, and repair bills. He spends many hours praying for rain or sunshine instead of sleeping. He sweats like no other job will make you. He works like most people wouldn't.
He gets yelled at and cussed out by people who get caught behind the tractor traveling down the road, and he spends many times of the day wondering if it's worth it!
The deer, coyotes, hogs, c***s, gophers, grasshoppers are just a few pests to contend with!!
He does all of this for what??? Ask yourself, "Why would he do that?" The answers are all around you.
The plate of food sitting in front of you, the clothes on your back, the shoes on your feet, and the last answer is the one that puzzles most people. It's the dust, love for agriculture, and the satisfaction of knowing he has done his part at the end of the day!
I'd like to thank all the farmers out there who help make the world go round!
