I recently ordered from Da Reggae Spot in Greensboro. Here is my 2cents.

The barbecue jerk wings were excellent, with a smoky flavor and spicy glaze. The beef patties were also delicious. The crust was perfect, and the filling was flavorful and authentic.

I found the Jamaican Conch Fritters to be a bit overcooked, with an unexpected sweetness. The Sweet taste was okay..... It was just overcooked. Most disappointingly was the Ackee and Saltfish plate. The consistency was overly mushy, the inclusion of large cherry tomatoes was unexpected, and the cabbage was undercooked. Sidenote.....the rice and plantains were enjoyable.

While I will not be ordering the Ackee and Saltfish again, I would give them a second try and order something else.

Crazy Legs sports Cafe is a new spot that just recently opened. I stopped in during their soft opening. I ordered the sweet barbecue wings and sea salt fries.

The sea salt fries came out hot, fresh and crispy. There was some yellow drizzle in the bottom of the bowl which I was told was butter.

As far as the wings go.... I felt like the wings were fried hard and hot and then tossed in refrigerator cold sauce...... Which gave the wings a lukewarm taste.

I want to do a comparison and return to this establishment once they're fully open and have had time to work out the kinks.

I had to give y'all an up close and personal shot of this delicious a$$ Bucatini Cacio E Pepe..... Aka cheese and pepper. Made with Romano cheese, black pepper , and handmade homemade pasta. I loved the thickness....and softness of the Bucatini. Fresh coarse pepper mixed with the cheese sauce made every bit worth biting. Check'em out.

Hibachi rice with chicken and shrimp and sweet& spicy sauce on the side. By itself, the chicken was good but the shrimp and rice needed some flavor. Very bland. I added the sauce all over and stirred it up real good and the meal came to life. For a hibachi spot the food preparation needs some work.

Stopped in for a quick bite at the Bradford House before heading to the airport. I ordered the Bradford House Breakfast which included two scrambled eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes, country white toast, and a side of jam. I also added salmon for extra protein.

Let’s start with the good.
The breakfast platter definitely hit the spot. The eggs were softly scrambled, the bacon was perfectly crispy, and the potatoes were well seasoned and tender.

Now, the salmon… unfortunately, that was a letdown. I could tell it was overcooked before the first bite. If only I had some grits. 😁

They do offer fresh pastries to order, and if I’m in the area again, I’d give them a try.

Looking for a new pizza spot led me to Brooklyn Pizza Parlor, located at 7725 Colony Rd, Charlotte, NC 28226. Here’s what I ordered:

Meatza Pizza
This pizza comes with pepperoni, Italian sausage, beef, and ham on a thin crust. Overall, I needed more sauce. Without it, the pizza felt more like an oversized breadstick, and the toppings didn’t blend together the way they should have.

Buffalo Wings
I asked for them fried hard, but it seems that request was overlooked. The buffalo sauce itself had good flavor, but the wings just didn’t hit the mark—the meat wasn’t very appetizing.

I would consider giving them a second try because the menu has a lot to choose from, but one employee (who seemed like a manager) really dimmed the experience.

While I was there, the phone rang. She walked over, picked up the receiver, slammed it back down, and said, “Oops. I guess they didn’t want anything,” then laughed and walked away. Truly terrible customer service.

Fall festivals are the best. Just a little fun post. I just need them to brine the turkey legs. I need some flavor past the first level of bites. Now the corn......I could have eaten a whole bit. Seasoned with butter and old bay (my selection).

Out for a drive, my hunger led me to The Crazy Pig in Davidson, NC for some takeout. Here’s my honest two cents:

The baked beans fell flat right away. No depth of flavor, no smokiness, and not even a hint of meat mixed in—just plain and forgettable.

The pulled pork on its own didn’t impress much, coming across as bland. Thankfully, once I added their sauce, it came alive with much-needed flavor.

The hush puppies were another miss—dry, lacking in seasoning, and missing that satisfying bite I was hoping for.

As for the brisket, it arrived without any bark (a must for good brisket), and it was slightly overcooked. Again, the sauce helped, but the meat itself lacked the richness you expect from BBQ done right.

I held out hope for the chicken, which looked well-seasoned and smoked. Unfortunately, the flavor profile just didn’t land—the seasoning blend clashed instead of complementing, and after one bite, I couldn’t continue.

At the end of the day, the brisket and pulled pork with sauce were edible, but overall, this spot has some serious work to do to measure up as a true BBQ destination.

Zambies Pizza is the late-night lifesaver after a night out on the town. Tucked away at 3204 N Davidson St, Charlotte, NC 28205, this spot makes it way too easy to grab a slice and keep the good vibes rolling. The pies are on full display—bright, hot, and begging to be chosen. Just point at your slice, let them toast it to perfection, and get ready for pure happiness on a paper plate.

That first bite? Magic. The crust had the right chew, the sauce hit with just enough tang, the cheese stretched like a dream, and the toppings brought it all together. Simple, fast, and downright delicious—Zambies nails that perfect balance that every pizza joint should chase.

After a breathtaking sunset cruise, I made my way back to Salt, the signature restaurant at the Four Seasons. After an evening of dancing and sipping with my cousins—Jack, Jim, and James—it was time to balance the party with something indulgent from the kitchen.

I went all in with a gigantic lobster tail alongside the jerk cauliflower. Let me start by saying: this lobster tail is the largest I’ve ever been served at a restaurant. Perfectly cooked, tender, and dripping with flavor—it was the kind of dish that makes you pause after each bite just to savor the moment.

But the real surprise was the jerk cauliflower. Whoever seasoned this dish deserves a standing ovation. The spice blend was bold yet balanced, coating roasted cauliflower that was paired with asparagus, quinoa, mashed potatoes, and—plot twist—what I thought were cherry tomatoes but turned out to be grapes. That unexpected sweetness tied the whole dish together in the most brilliant way. Honestly, I wish I had ordered a second plate just to take back with me.

If you’re staying at the Four Seasons, Salt is a must-visit. Between the setting, the service, and the food, it’s a dining experience you won’t forget!
