I've been out playing hookie, The DoBoy and Jr Varsity kept the smoke rolling. I've been blessed to keep a passel of friends from school days. Today we helped Christy Moore celebrate her parents 50th wedding anniversary. Buncha good folks came out to help them celebrate. BBQ when it's right is a purdy thing!

Sadly stepping out of Camp meeting again this year, I'm out of town for most of it, Kids are busy building careers, and the Old Woman can't do it all. So many have asked we're doing a bulk sale for pickup Next Saturday August 8th. Noon til one in Belmont maybe able to deliver a few orders. If you want anything else speak up early, Chicken and Sides we can accommodate if enough want in. Possibly scheming a Chicken and Fish cook on the 15th more to come on that. Hit the inbox us, hit up Shannon Davis, Christina Rhyne, Janet Rhyne, Jesse Whaley, or myself to order. I suspect this to be a sale out, get your orders in soon

More than a few have sent this pic or called the last couple of days. $75 bones is a helluva lot for two people in a BBQ joint- The truth is, there's not a lot of BBQ joints left. Building leases, food cost, help cost have driven most family run joints out of business. If the market can carry it everyone raises their prices. There's one place in the State that I would spend that kind of money ( still get a better deal in Peachland, better folks too ). It's happened all over the Carolinas, the bunch in Morganton, just carried over the bar from Falston. If you're not supporting your local hometown joints, they'll fall to the way side of these Texas wannabe boutique BBQ tourist traps. Just like open Pits and whole Hog BBQ going the way of the Dinosaur. Y'all ultimately control who stays in business and blooms, or who closes the doors and gets lost in history. Fish camps were first, your favorite BBQ joint is next!

Ton and a half of meat, lightly kissed with pecan smoke delivered in two days, 60 pounds of fish, 20 pounds of shrimp, 20 pounds of taters, 20 pounds of pups, fried golden brown to friends, family, neighbors and strangers. Many thanks to our customers that keep the Famn Damily gatherings going. .Many thanks to the Do-Boy, Claytona, Fat baby, JW, Shannon and Trotsky for all the help.
