Thanks to our dedicated volunteers, we are able to support our Purpose of Connecting the World to Share Food and Care For One Another by strengthening and serving your community.

FreshPoint Charlotte has had an ongoing monthly donation of employee hours and food for the Roof Above Men’s Shelter. Over the past year or so, they have had an average of 3 to 5 colleagues who volunteer to meet and serve lunch on the 3rd Thursday of each month for about an hour.

For this event pictured here, they donated around 30.5 hours and 65lbs of food.

It is a heartfelt experience they are happy to be a part of.

Looking for some delicious locally grown produce for your menu? Barbee Farms is currently growing delicious summer peppers, yellow squash, zucchini, stone fruit, and tomatoes. 🍅

Brent Barbee started Barbee Farms in 2008, but the farm has much deeper roots. Brent is a 6th generation farmer. He inherited the farm from his dad who mainly grew row crops.

He says, “We specialize in diversity. We don't grow a lot of any one thing, but we try to grow a little bit of everything.”

They are currently growing delicious summer peppers, yellow squash, zucchini, stone fruit, and tomatoes. 🍅

Everyone, say hi 👋 to Michael! He has been a member of our FreshPoint team for 8 years!

Michael provides exceptional customer service. He greets everyone with a smile and is always asking if he can help. Michael recently helped a customer with a “Local Carolina meal,” of which 90% of the meal had come from the Carolinas. They went on to say how everyone enjoyed his stories of where the food came from.

We think he is a great example of our Value of Defining Excellence. We founded this industry from our love for food, and we continue to define it. Our history, experience, reach, and talent allow us to set standards for everyone to follow. To do so, we must continuously work safely, challenge the status quo, pursue innovation, and always push beyond our bounds and outperform expectations.

Michael, thank you for all you do for us every day, and for helping to make FreshPoint a great place. Let’s all give him a wave hello! 👋

We were invited to join Clemson’s Spring Farmers Market this week! 🌱 🍇🥦🍉

We had a great time talking with students and faculty who showed a genuine interest in what we do and the farms we support.

We created a local salad sample at our table using our local hydro lettuces, micros, strawberries, Clemson blue cheese and a vinaigrette made with honey and L***y Monk mustard.

Clemson featured our local and non-local produce plus our local artisans for sale at their Farmers Market. Looked like the Strawberries, Lindale cheese from Goat Lady, and Simple Kneads Gluten Free bread were a big hit and sold out!

Continuing our spring produce special for seasonal menus!

We have in our warehouses Local Purple Asparagus.

Please give us 3-4 business days to deliver!

🌱 It’s an 11lbs case
🌱 Can be eaten raw and is a colorful addiction to almost any salad.
🌱They're mild in flavor but sweeter than green asparagus.
🌱They have a higher content of natural sugars than other asparagus varieties.
🌱 When cooked, these purple, stalky vegetables resemble a blend of barley, almonds and artichokes.

These asparagus are coming from Wise Farms located in Mount Olive, North Carolina.

September is purpose month!

FreshPoint Charlotte partnered with Roof Above Men’s Shelter (a nonprofit organization to unite the community to end homelessness, one life at a time.) and on September 21st, team members donated their day to bagging up and passing out lunch bags at Roof Above’s Day Service Center (a nonprofit organization with a focus on serving unsheltered neighbors through the Day Services Center and intensive housing solutions. Roof Above offers everything from street outreach and basic services, to shelter and housing. Their services and programs reach over 1,200 individuals every day across multiple campuses throughout Charlotte. Providing daily lunches, Basic services: showers, laundry, restrooms, device charging, phone, fax and mail; Medical support: Nurse, prescription assistance, over-the-counter medications; Help with obtaining ID, bus passes (for verified work/medical appointment), and more; Connections to community resources; and First step to emergency shelter and housing.



FreshPoint Carolinas donated a collective 40.5 hours (756 lbs of food) in support of local food banks, community kitchens, and living our purpose!
