La Pelle translates to ‘the shovel’ representing a true collaboration between the farmer and the winemaker.

Maayan Koschitzky, Miguel Luna and Pete Richmond are the faces behind La Pelle. Through various different backgrounds, they came together to create terroir focused wines and to showcase the sites from which the fruit is sourced. 🧑🏽‍🌾🍇🍷

We were overjoyed to have Maayan with us in North Carolina this past week. Maayan walked us through what it takes to produce world-class wines, pouring everything from their Napa Series to their Single Vineyard wines.

If you haven’t heard… the La Pelle Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 scored 100 points from Decanter! While the Red Hen and Alluvium Cabernet’s each got 99 points! Whoo!!🎉⭐️

David Tate in the Carolina’s is always a good time! David makes wine for both Barnett and Tate, incredible wines coming from Napa Valley.🍷🌞🥳

David has practiced his craft all over the world, working in Australia, France, New Zealand and Santa Cruz California. He began making wine in the Spring Mountain District for Barnett in 2007.

David and Suzanne founded Tate in 2011, focusing on producing wine from micro-vineyards along the valley floor and hillsides of Napa Valley.

Trust us - these are wines you don’t want to miss. Try them all! 🤩

We launched Anthem Winery into the Carolina’s this week and couldn’t be happier! 💥🍷

Anthem’s packaging is what nerdy wine lovers dream of. Topographic maps of the vineyard sights on the front label, the back label has a full tech sheet on how each wine is crafted. Plus, the juice on the inside is just as astonishing!

Photos from the Vignamaggio estate located in the heart of Chianti Classico. 🇮🇹🍇

There are over seven centuries of history here, dating back to 1250 when the Gherardini family built their castle. The first evidence of winemaking on the estate is plans of barrel aging wine written on parchment from the year 1404.

Hundreds of years of winemaking, plus a little folklore has made Vignamaggio into who they are today! Be prepared to be blown away by their Chianti’s. 🍷

Starting off the week by introducing a new winery into our book: Cape Mentelle 🥂🍇

Cape Mentelle was founded in 1970, as one of Margaret River’s founding five wineries. David Hohnen originally planted Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.

Their flagship wine is Cabernet Sauvignon from the original Wallcliffe Vineyard. In 1983, Cape Mentelle won the Jimmy Watson award for the best ‘one year old dry red’. They are now known for being one of Australia’s leading Cabernet Sauvignons.

Pago de la Jaraba is located in the heart of La Mancha and started in the year 1997. Growing Tempranillo, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Graciano and Sauvignon Blanc.

The line of Viña Jaraba wines are a blend of Tempranillo, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon each from a different plot on the estate. While the Pago de la Jaraba is single vineyard wine of the same blend.

Ernesto is the international sales representative from Spain. If you’re lucky enough to visit him at winery, you will tour and taste your way through the winery, olive mill and cheese making facility. The cheese is made from the Manchego sheep who live right on the farm. 🧀🍇🐑

This past weekend, our team was out exploring California wine country - visiting wineries and hearing stories first hand. 🍷🌱🐈‍⬛

We are super excited to have strengthened our bond with a handful of current wineries, as well as welcoming on some new ones. The team is back, having gained knowledge (+ a little CA sunshine) and are ready to share that with us in the Carolina’s. 🌞
