After filming wrapped for the latest Carolina’s episode, I had a chance to chat with a few of the judges and and get some of their thoughts. Thanks to them for taking the time!

Top Chef filming in the Carolinas?! Glad I was able to be there! Bucket list item officially checked off ✅

This was Episode 12 “Appalachian Celebration” — the top 5 chefs hosted a one-night-only event in Asheville for 200 community members in recognition of their resilience after Hurricane Helene. The vibe under the trees was unmatched and the meaning behind the event made it that much more special.

My standouts of the day: stuffed cabbage with that fire chili oil and fish sandwich — both absolute heat 🔥

Even ended up in the episode a few times which was wild to see 👀

Big shoutout to for the way they’ve been showcasing the Carolinas this season and the hosts

🌮🎉 Cinco de Mayo just got a whole lot more lit — is bringing back Fiesta de los Tacos and these tacos are NOT playing around! 50 cent tacos - you cannot beat that!

Also - Thanks to with Ricky Singh (), the first 1,000 tacos at South Blvd and the first 500 at Concord are FREE (limit 5 per person) — and even after the free tacos are gone, tacos are just 50¢ ALL DAY. Get there early because there will be a line and they will go FAST!

📍 Compare Foods Concord () 840 Concord Pkwy N, Concord, NC 28027

Honey Pies BBQ just took over the old Bubba’s off Sunset and this Black woman-owned spot is serving up Texas style BBQ with all the southern sides we love!

The grand opening was a whole EXPERIENCE - line out the door, DJs spinning, food trucks, car & bike show, a play area for the kids, AND pulled up with the horses. It genuinely felt like a good ol’ country time out here!

I grabbed a platter with a variety of things and spent around $53 - brisket, chicken, collard greens, potato salad & mac and cheese. My boy Moe aka got the dino beef ribs and those things were CRAZY. Service was attentive too!

This was just the grand opening so stay tuned - I’ll be pulling back up once they’re officially open to give y’all the full review!

Cheesecake Carousel has been a Charlotte staple for the cheesecake, but the ice cream deserves just as much shine. Pulled up while uptown and had to put y’all on.

Some of my favs 🤌🏽
🍨 red velvet ice cream
🍌 banana pudding ice cream
🎂 red velvet cheesecake slice
🍑 peach cobbler cheesecake mini (a must!)
🍪 cookies and cream cheesecake mini

Pull up on the next time you’re uptown and tell them I sent you!

Hornets game day was a whole experience 🔥🏀

Pulled up to Spectrum Center and had to show off the jumper a little before heading inside, but let’s be real... the food was one of the stars of the night too. The Buzz City Nacho Stack with added shrimp was loaded, the Stinger mozzarella stick was absolutely ridiculous, and the Hive BBQ Pit platter was solid all around.

I also got to check out some of the premium clubs, and they came with some real good eats too. Inner Circle Club came through with brisket, greens, mac, and cornbread, HondaJet Courtside Club had a great laid-back setup, and Hardwood Club was on another level with sushi, steak, and more. Premium concession items are available through the playoffs too, which is a nice bonus.

Then once the game got going, the energy in that arena was CRAZY. One of the best Hornets games I’ve personally been to, and the overall game day experience at the stadium is amazing. If the Hornets are making that playoff push, you need to get in the building.

Shoutout to the Hornets for the invite. Stay tapped in with for more Charlotte experiences, food, and events.

Yooo my guys at just changed the drink game in Charlotte. Boiled hot dog water lemonades!! 48 hour boiled glizzys, fresh picked lemons, jolly rancher and skittles flavor options, mayo and tajin rim, AND homemade hot dog straws. Nobody else in the city is doing it like this. You gotta pull up and try one before they sell out.

But nah Happy April Fools from Tha Daily Special x Qs Culinary! The ACTUAL food at Qs is amazing. If you haven’t been yet you’re definitely sleeping. Go check them out and tell them I sent you.

Uchi is one of the most hyped restaurant openings Charlotte has seen in a while and it did not disappoint 🔥 We pulled up for the soft opening and went with the somakase, where the chef curates an entire tasting menu based on what you like. The sushi and nigiri was super fresh, the hot rock wagyu was a dope experience cooking it yourself at the table, and the karaage chicken with sweet chili was perfection. We also had the Uchi salad, shish*to peppers, kinoko nabe, short rib, and this trumpet mushroom dish that caught us off guard. We tried a few mocktails too and they were all super refreshing. But whatever you do... do NOT skip dessert. The fried milk is one of the most unique desserts in Charlotte right now. If you love sushi and Japanese cuisine, this is a must visit. Oh and they offer complimentary valet which is a nice touch.
