If you know me, you know I’m always chasing something different in Charlotte’s food scene and Serengeti Kitchen inside 7th Street Market just delivered exactly that.

This is the Kisinia Serengeti Feast Platter, and it’s a full Tanzanian street food experience on one tray:

Lamb ribs
Jumbo shrimp
Chicken
Samosas
Chapati
Fries

Only available on Thursdays and you’ll want to pre-order in advance since spots are limited each week. Don’t sleep though even if it’s not Thursday, Serengeti Kitchen serves up amazing Tanzanian food any day of the week with a full menu of great options to choose from.

I pulled up to Toastique in Charlotte and had to run through the menu. Shoutout to this being a Black owned spot, that’s always a plus for me.

I didn’t even know they had matcha, smoothies, acai bowls, teas and a grab and go section on top of the toast. Thought it was just toast honestly.

I tried the cold pressed juices and they were really good. Went with the smoked salmon toast, herbed cream cheese, arugula, cucumber, smoked salmon, pickled onions and capers, solid choice.

The crab toast was the one for me though, melted swiss and fontina, lettuce, tomato, lump crab, jalapeños and a sriracha aioli drizzle that sealed it as my favorite.

They’ve also got a summer menu right now with a watermelon feta toast and a blue iced seafoam matcha latte worth trying.

You can tell everything is made with high quality ingredients, fresh, well put together, and it shows in every bite. Staff were some of the friendliest I’ve dealt with too Toastique

Had to channel my inner Jose Luis Per for this one. I always love going to Rio 150 Mexican Restaurant and today I was invited to try some things I hadn’t had before and they did not miss! And the 56oz Monster Margaritas are 👌🏾. Check it out if you haven’t already! This was the Steele Creek location but they have 5 locations in the Charlotte area.

🍦🎂 Yooo so its my birthday week and seemingly overzealous hit me up wanting to celebrate it with my very own ice cream flavor so of course it had to be red velvet. They didn’t stop there either. They’re dropping mini ice cream cakes alongside it too, and those are always a hit with customers.

The best part is everything they make is dairy free, egg free, gluten free, soy free, and no artificial dyes so yall can enjoy your scoops without any worries.
