Today we present to you two of our rabbits: Maple, and her cute baby, Waffles. Maple is the only one of our mama rabbits who seems to be able to successfully raise kits. Maple is a broken castor Rex while Waffles is a castor Rex.

🐰 Key Facts About Rex Rabbits

✨ Velvet Coat
Rex rabbits are famous for their incredibly soft, plush fur. Their guard hairs are the same length as the undercoat, making the fur stand upright—giving it that signature velvety feel.

🇫🇷 Origin
This unique breed first appeared in France in 1919 from a litter of wild rabbits and was officially showcased in Paris in 1924.

💛 Temperament
Rex rabbits are calm, gentle, and affectionate. Their friendly nature makes them one of the best choices for a pet rabbit.

⚖️ Size
They are medium-sized rabbits, typically weighing between 7.5 and 10.5 pounds.

👀 Appearance
In addition to their plush coat, Rex rabbits have distinctive curly whiskers and a strong, muscular build.
