Stand restock on Sunday!

My oh my have we been busy! Eggs have been flying out the nesting boxes faster than the girls are laying! Seriously waited for 2 hens yesterday to plop one out to finish off filling another egg carton to head to the stand! 😅😂 and for the record we get about 5dz a day and can’t keep up 🧡 Thank you for your support and understanding!

A little snippet of July these past few weeks 🧡💛🌻 And also trying to convince instagram to bring back pics instead of reels….🫠

In the garden: Annie’s Raspberries, garlic drying on the racks, sunflowers are blooming, broccoli harvested, cabbage, beans, purple potatoes, and cucumbers are all coming in!

Preservation:
sauerkraut has been made
Fermented honey garlic
Apple pie filling with leftover apples
Carrots canned and some left for the fridge for fresh eating
Herbs drying for daysssss 🌿

And the most beautiful sunsets 🌅

Currently today the laundry is all on the line, blueberry muffins made before the sun came up to beat the heat, and the garden deeply watered and picked before the brutal temps ahead of us this week. 🥵

This past week we have been preserving all our herbs🌿 , eating fresh greens🥬 , peas🫛 , and finished bringing in the strawberry🍓 harvest. I was pleasantly surprised and happy with the size of our patch this year. It’s a lot of trial and error to dial in just how much of a crop you need for your family to put away for a year till the next harvest.

This life we are creating and growing since we really started to dive in deep into homesteading has been such an eye opening experience and lifestyle change. You crave so much less, not more. You have to grow so much more food than you think to fill your jars🫙. Changing and adapting to the seasons, finding your rhythm within the seasons, is hard yet fulfilling work.

But while we have been focused on preserving and wood cutting we do take moments to breathe and play and just simply enjoy this life we are building.

God is so, so good. ❤️
