Part-Time Summer Farm Help Wanted (Potential for ongoing work)

We are looking for a reliable individual to assist with a variety of farm tasks, including:

* Round and square baling
* Building and equipment maintenance
* W**d trimming/whipping/mowing
* Fencing repairs
* General farm work as needed

Requirements:

* Valid driver’s license
* Flexible availability
* Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

Previous farm experience is an asset but not required. Training can be provided!

Compensation: Pay will be based on experience and skill level.

If anyone is going to need eggs, whether to stock a farm store or just for personal use, let me know. We have 20 dozen or more a week right now and one of my buyers had to back down for the moment. I do go through all the eggs each week of what wasn’t sold the week prior and use them ourselves so you are getting fresh eggs. We can do washed or unwashed as well. This girl is calm, sweet and not skittish. She’s not halter trained or necessarily an in your pocket type but is used to being around people. She has a great build and a good looking udder. She has smaller calves that grow great.
Currently open and looking for a new herd to join.

Not looking to give this girl away. She is a great cow!

We buried one today. I’m not sure what happened. We should have came out in the night to check on her but she has never had problems in the past and labor hadn’t started when we went to bed. Lesson learned.

Here are the sounds of Tilly calling her baby to get up as the kids and I take her away. We let mama have her for a couple hours and she even rested next her for a bit too. She had her all cleaned up and was doing her best to get the baby up. We buried her and had a little prayer and the kids got to ask all the questions. Listening to a mama lose her baby and not understanding is so difficult. Her milk is there, and she is ready to care for a baby that just won’t be. She will likely be calling looking for her tonight as well.

We have lots of eggs right now as most of our flock is getting old enough to be laying at this point. We have them selling at a wonderful neighboring farm, Full Circle Farm. Our eggs are non-GMO and free range(When weather allows), but they get lots of treats and outside access everyday! You will notice darker egg yokes and if you are ever unhappy, just let us know!
If you haven’t stopped out at Full Circle Farm before, I recommend doing it! They have farm raised, beef, pork, chicken, and more! One of our favorite stops for grass fed tallow products, and the best soaps for the family!

Thankfully we have a neighboring farm with hens that are laying because ours have completely stopped since the extreme cold set in.
We now have beautiful eggs from Vandermeer Farm available in the Farmstore! $4 dozen, we currently have 16 dozen available so stop into the farmstore tomorrow for farm fresh eggs!
