Meet Fred Moody, Supervisor of Field Operations Dispatch. Fred and his team help make sure the right personnel get where they need to be to respond to issues across our water and sewer system.
Without that coordination, as Fred puts it, it would be “total chaos.”

This Imagine a Day Without Water, we’re recognizing the people working behind the scenes to keep things running and help our community get the service they count on.

Meet Rocio Bell, Environmental Compliance Specialist. A proud Jarocha from Veracruz, Mexico, Rocio brings a spirit of kindness, hospitality, and persistence to both her work and her community.

Two innovative projects. One vision for the future of water.

Charlotte Water is proud to be recognized nationally for innovation in water reuse:

🏆 "Utility of the Future Today," awarded at for Crown Bucha, an alcohol-free kombucha made with QC Water, our ultra-clean recycled water, in partnership with Lenny Boy Brewing Co. and Xylem.

🏆 AWWA Innovation Award, Utility Category, awarded at ACE26 for Renew Brew, a b**r made with recycled QC Water, in partnership with Town Brewing Co., Xylem and Yellow Duck Marketing.

Both projects show what's possible when utilities and community partners collaborate to build a more resilient, sustainable water supply.

This is just the beginning for water reuse in our community!

Current, flow, and fiber.

Charlotte Water’s CEO, Angela Charles, joined Martha Wegner (Duke Energy) and Kathleen Evans (AT&T) for a dynamic panel with our visiting friends from the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce.

Together, these leaders explored what it takes to power and sustain a thriving, fast-growing region.

When asked how Charlotte Water balances rapid economic development with maintaining legacy systems, Charles captured the heart of our mission:

"We are the silent economic driver for the region; none of this happens without water. Basic infrastructure has to be in place to fuel growth, but it requires constant planning. Between managing 100-year-old facilities and expanding capacity, our team of dedicated planning engineers works every day to adapt our capital program so our entire region can continue to thrive."

Grateful for the San Antonio delegation for visiting the Queen City and sparking such thoughtful conversations about our shared future!
