It’s the most wonderful time of the beer year! Today, we begin serving our Oktoberfest lagers, MÄRZEN and FESTBIER! While it may not quite feel like Fall out there, we are jumping the gun to bring these guys out a bit early.
FESTBIER is a 4.3% pale lager, with a robust note of bready Munich malts on the palate. More assertive than its distant cousin RIVES STREET, and maybe even a little breadier than the soon-to-be prodigal brother HIGH WATER MARK. This style is traditionally served in the big tents throughout Bavaria during the Oktoberfest celebration each year.
I have one favorite beer that we make here at the Hog, and it’s MÄRZEN! This 5.8% amber lager really creates the fall atmosphere, despite the oppressive heat. Amber to almost red in color, this aromatic beer is brimming with caramel/toffee notes and finishes chewy, sweet, malt-forward and it will have you reaching for your blankey. Also returning this year, MÄRZEN is available to go in 4-pack 16oz cans!
These beers are available starting today and we will pour ‘em as long as we have ‘em! Liter pours are also available starting today!
