A glimpse into working with 30-40 TONS of rock, and the precision and teamwork it takes into getting this done. 💪🏼

Building this boulder wall and water feature takes more than heavy equipment — it takes patience, teamwork, and a sharp eye for placement. Every single rock has to fit naturally, lock together structurally, and shape the flow of the water just right. 🪨🤘🏼🚜

Vision to action 💧🪨

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be highlighting another aspect of this pond restoration project — a custom Boulder Wall & Water Feature.

Designed to blend naturally into the landscape while improving both function and aesthetics, this feature will add movement, texture, and new life to the property. Stay tuned as the project continues to take shape.

Before ➝ After… almost! Work in progress, but the difference speaks for itself.

We’re clearing out an overgrown pine and cedar thicket to restore both the land and the pond below. Removing these trees helps reduce acidic runoff into the water, improving overall pond health. It also opens up the property, making the land more usable and increasing the farm’s value. 🌲🚜💧

This phase of a pond restoration project focuses on a multi-bay sediment control system—built to clean and filter water before it reaches the pond.

Chase Campbell breaks down how it all works and why it matters.

We can’t wait to share the finished project with y’all!

Pond restoration project underway — this phase of the project focuses on a multi-bay sediment control system, helping clean and filter water before it reaches the pond. 🌊 🔄 🪨 🌱 🌾 🏞️ 🚜 🐟 ♻️ 🌿

There are forebays, which are essentially sections designed to slow water down. As water moves through each bay, it has time to settle—allowing sediment to drop out before flowing into the next section. By the time it reaches the pond, the water is significantly cleaner with minimal sediment.

At the outlet of the pipes from these bays, we’re installing rock. These rocks act as a splash pad where the water discharges into the pond. This helps prevent erosion and undercutting around the pipe outlets by dispersing the force of the water.

As an added benefit, the rock also creates habitat for fish—especially helpful during colder months, as it provides structure and protection.

Progress Report: Same spot, 8 months later. Countless hours invested into restoring this farm- including revitalizing existing ponds and water bodies along the way. Excited to share what’s ahead for this pond rebuild! 🌱
