WELCOME TO 22BRIX, a unique and exiting new wine room located in the heart of downtown Charlottesville. We are the remote tasting room for ANKIDA RIDGE VINEYARDS, a family-run micro vineyard located at 1800 ft on the eastern slope of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Central Virginia. Coined as Virginia’s “Little Burgundy”, Ankida Ridge’s granite soils have given birth to roughly two acres of Pinot Noir
and Chardonnay vines through environmentally sensitive viticulture. Now four vintages deep, the Ankida family is excited to finally bring the rugged beauty of our mountain vineyard to Charlottesville. EVERY VINEYARD HAS A STORY, and Ankida’s is one we are very excited to share with you. With an emphasis on wine appreciation and education, 22BRIX is not only bringing the wines of Ankida Ridge to your tasting room experience, but also the rich and eclectic story of how they came to be. From rootstock to bottle, we want our sippers to understand why our wines tastes the way they do, and furthermore, why Virginia terroir is fast becoming the new leader in East Coast wine production. FEATURING monthly tasting events, classes, artwork and local musicians, we want the community of Charlottesville to think of 22BRIX as their local wine community center – a spot to drink it, chat about it, understand it, and most importantly, to enjoy it. So whether you’re stopping in for a taste at the bar, a glass on our front porch, or cozying up with a bottle and a friend at our old wooden community table, we want our sippers to walk away feeling like they too have been a part of the ever-unfolding Ankida Ridge story.
