Two years ago, Hurricane Helene changed communities across the region and left a lasting impact on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Two years later, recovery efforts continue on the Parkway. From major road and trail repairs to the restoration of visitor facilities and recreation areas, work is happening across the Parkway to restore access and rebuild what was damaged.
Every project brings us one step closer to welcoming residents of impacted communities and visitors back to the places they know and love.
We’re proud of how far recovery has come, grateful to the employees, partners, contractors, volunteers and communities who have helped make this progress possible, and looking forward to what’s ahead.
Two years into recovery. Many milestones behind us. And we’re still moving forward. The park is slated to complete all Helene recovery road projects by the end of 2026 with announcements coming soon.
