The chickens got a nice little upgrade today thanks to the hubs! ❤️🐔
We spent the evening installing misting systems, and now every run (except one that's tucked behind the other coops in deep shade) has its own mister to help keep everyone cool during this heat wave.
Between the shade, fresh water, and now the misters, our feathered crew should be much more comfortable on these scorching days. 💦

An added bonus is that we now have water run to each coop, which means automatic waterers are a project we can tackle in the future. One step at a time, but it's exciting to keep making improvements for the flock! 💦☀️

This heat wave is no joke! 🥵
We decided our chickens needed a little extra comfort, so they officially inherited one of our old pool umbrellas for some much-needed shade. ☂️🐓
I also made a Food Lion run and picked up watermelon and cantaloupe to help keep everyone cool, hydrated, and happy during these scorching temperatures. 🍉🍈
Between extra shade, fresh water, cooling treats, and lots of check-ins throughout the day, we're doing everything we can to help our animals beat the heat.
Stay cool out there, everyone! ☀️💙
