Since we’ve had a decent amount of rain I thought I would wake up the Massey from it’s long winters nap and get back to mowing pasture.

For the last 2-3 weeks we have been building new fences and mowing pasture to get the last remaining field ready to graze cattle on again. The fence work was done by Robert Cole, who has done all of our fence work for the last several years. So today I finally got to turn the cattle into that field that hasn’t been grazed in four years. Once the garden dries out this week maybe we can get some planting started. Thanks to Blake Tallent for assembling two more raised garden beds. The hay equipment has been sold with the exception of a rake and tedder, once I get some more pictures I will be posting it on Facebook marketplace. I made the decision to go back to buying all of my hay needs and just concentrate on grazing and feeding cattle and enjoy my retirement! Check back often for availability of produce later on.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything, but we are still here. Group of calves ready to head north to Athens Tennessee next week. We should have some vegetables available this summer!
