I haven’t posted much this year so I figured I’d offer some updates on the farm.
For years I was driving all over the southeast sourcing sericea lezpedeza hay because of its high tannin content and its effects on internal parasites. I finally threw in the towel a few years back and started feeding regular grass mix round bales that we put up here on the farm.
I also use to get wicks mineral trucked in yearly and have since switched to Sweetlix meat maker that is available locally or can be ordered to my local tractor supply.
After a little over 10 years of having LGD’s I finally got a male dog that has worked out. Big thanks to Shane Hesterman at Deep South Kikos for that. He ended up siring two liters of 75% Anatolian / 25% Akbash puppies for us. They’re all doing great and we should have some available soon if anyone is interested.
Unfortunately we lost WAC Grazer to a very aggressive cancer earlier this year during breeding season. WAC Juggernaut covered most of the does that grazer didn’t but Joseph Knetter was kind of enough to lend us LOO Big River to help on clean up and next years breeding season.
Does are getting fat ready to kid in the new few weeks.
And I took the railing off my porch for a better view of our soon to be yearlings. One of the best batches yet.
Thanks for looking and I hope all is well your way.
