TN4All presents the People’s Hearing on Corporate Greed: Revealing how corporations get out of paying their taxes. Multiple studies and reports have shown that more than 60% of corporations filing in TN are paying ZERO in the state’s corporate income tax, while working people struggle to get by. In spite of that, the TN legislature has passed back to back multi-billion tax giveaways to big corporations, but refused to eliminate the tax on groceries.

Join us on September 16th to hear from a corporate tax avoidance expert on how we close corporate tax loopholes and provide real relief for working families by ending the grocery tax. Rep. Aftyn Behn and Sen. Charlane Oliver will lead a conversation with experts on the tactics corporations use to skip out on their responsibility to fund the services they rely on for their profits and that all of our communities need.

Tennesseans from around the state will talk about how the regressive sales and grocery taxes make life harder for families while big corporations get a free ride.

Join us to learn how we can make Tennessee a place that works for everyone, not just a wealthy few.

Wednesday, September 16

What if the grocery store your community needed was one we built together?

For too many of our neighborhoods, access to fresh, affordable food means getting in the car and leaving the community.

And when we leave to spend our money, our dollars leave with us.

But there’s another problem we don’t talk about enough:

How often do we see ourselves reflected in the places where we spend our money?

Where are the grocery stores owned by our neighbors?

Where are the shelves filled with products from our local entrepreneurs?

Where are the spaces where our farmers, elders, young professionals, families, and small businesses can all meet?

We believe Chattanooga can do better.

Now imagine walking into a grocery store where someone knows your name.

Where the produce comes from local growers.

Where a young entrepreneur gets their first retail shelf.

Where a teenager gets their first job.

Where families can access healthy food without leaving their neighborhood.

Where you can grab your groceries, attend a cooking class, learn about cooperative economics, meet your neighbors, and discover the next great community business—all under one roof.

That is the Chattanooga Community Cooperative.

We're not just trying to open a grocery store.

We're rebuilding something our ancestors understood deeply:

We survive by sharing.
We thrive by cooperating.
We build power by owning together.

Food is more than food.

It's health.
It's culture.
It's economics.
It's community.

And we want to build a place where all four come together.

The question isn't, "Does Chattanooga need this?"

The question is:

Will you help us build it?

🌱 Shop local.
🤝 Cooperate.
🏪 Build ownership.
💚 Feed the community.
