Happy birthday Brian Splawn!!!

My favorite part of marrying a Virgo is that they try so damn hard to be the best at everything they do. This can also be the most annoying part too. 🤗

So of course, Brian is a great friend, the best Dad, a kind and thoughtful husband. We love him dearly even when he pinches are cheeks or reorganizes the dishwasher!

We’re so happy to have you home to celebrate you this weekend! How lucky are we?

Shaping burger patties to be uniform in shape and even in thickness can be kind of annoying and messy, especially if you need to make a bunch of them. Deli container lids come to the rescue again to make this much easier!

The headline is “I married a Virgo” aka September is Brian Splawn birthday month. He will try to be low key about it and I absolutely will not. 🤗 Lots of his favorites on my September list!

Does anyone have a recipe for apple hand pies they love??

I cried the whole drive home from the grocery store this afternoon. It was a good cathartic cry, a relief at recognizing everything I’ve been holding tight for the last few years and that we’re on the threshold of a new season once school starts in August.

I share this only to remind myself as much as anyone that not all Good Lists are tomato toasts and chocolate dipped cones. Sometimes the best bits of my week don’t have a bullet point or a photograph because they’re just a deep exhale right when you needed it.

Here is my week’s list
• Sunday dinners
• a fun little Bleu Fox Cheese Shop run
• TRUMPET!!!!
• summer reading
• feeding the neighborhood
• hike and a little treat w Katy Harmon 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈
• tomato toast for dinner
• hand-me-down hot wheel tracks 🫣
• BONA FIDE!!!
• dinner with friends
• tomato bagels >>>
• BLT on Erin Jeanne McDowell sungold focaccia

What would be on your good list this week?
