●Chivas Regal Extra

The first fall dram review is here! And it actually fits the fall vibe fairly well! 👇🏼

Stats🧬: 40% ABV (80 proof), Blended Scotch, finished in Oloroso sherry casks.

Nose👃: Very crispy. As in apple crisp, slight pear too. A fair amount of spice is found like cinnamon. And of course some maltyness.

Palate👅: Very similar to the palate. Lots of apples here coated with cinnamon and a little bit of brown sugar. That maltyness returns. And some oak presents itself here too.

Finish🏁: Fairly short with a lighter mouthfeel.

This wh**ky will by no means blow your socks off. But for an intro to sherry cask play it isn't bad. The mouthfeel is on the thinner side and the overall depth isn't here. With that said I don't feel this is a bad dram. It has some solid flavors. And with these cooler temps (finally) coming in, it makes this an easy fall sipper.

I have been seeing so many people share their favorite experimental wh***ey of 2026 so Kuhn & I figured we'd hop on this trend train!

For us it's no contest! Chattanooga Wh***ey experimental lineup is unmatched! Specifically though the experimental batch 047 is by far our favorite! If camping and hiking vibes was a wh***ey and then bottled up...this would be it!

Fall is almost here! While it's somewhat sad to see summer leave, cooler temps and fall drams are calling our names. Kuhn is especially excited!

We have been absolutely LOVING this French Oak from Soubeyran Wh**ky if you haven't tried this single malt or French single malts in general here is your sign!

●Entry .08 Bottles we constantly restock...

There are some bottles that you just simply have to replace and restock time & time again. A shelf staple needs to hit a few criteria:
1.Flavor 2.Value 3.Reachability.
Here are a couple of OUR must have shelfers!

●Jack Daniel's
We will ALWAYS have a bottle of Jack Daniel's on our shelf. But more recently, we keep the Heritage Toasted Barrel stocked. The flavor alone keeps us coming back for more!

●Glenlivet
A classic scotch is something worth keeping around. And something as affordable and iconic as Glenlivet 12 is a must have on the shelf.

●Woodford Reserve
Who doesn't like dessert? Or chocolate for that matter? And thats why Woodford Reserve Double Oak has become a staple for us. Sweet, bold, and oh so delicious!

●Chattanooga Wh***ey
Easily one of our favorite distillerys of this year! The Cask 111 is no stranger to amazing flavors and aromas. And that price? Cmon!

●Maker's Mark
A signature mark on the shelf for sure! At Cask Strength, it just bumps up that value too.

This is a truly unique review today. This has been a company I have wanted to try for awhile now. A very big shoutout to Local Heros for sending us over these samples! Trust me...you'll want to try one of these too after reading these notes 👇🏼

●Sherry Bomb

Nose👃: Seagrass, creamy vanilla, baking spices, cinnamon, red apple, cherry, toasted malt.

Palate👅: Creamy vanilla, red apple, cherry, cinnamon toast crunch, sea salt, caramel, light oak. Overall light palate.

●Sweet Peat

Nose👃: Same creamy vanilla, butterscotch, pear, sea salt topped toffee, caramel, light elegant smoke.

Palate👅: Velvety, creamy palate. Vanilla, butterscotch, sea salt topped toffee, more peat influence but still very soft.

●Big Smoke

Nose👃: Sea salt, black pepper, thick vanilla, lemon zest, heavier smoke but not over done.

Palate👅: Way more peat here. BBQ smoke, sea salt, ripe pear, to***co. Very long finish.

This lineup was nothing short of a extravagant ride! Through every pour that signature creamy, fruity, elegance carried on boldly. While all three were phenomenal, I particular enjoyed the sweet peat. The flavors and aromatics were extraordinary! Sweet, creamy, and a super enjoyable light smoke. For people who are new to peated wh**ky or looking for something interesting, we feel this is a perfect place to look. Again massive thanks to Local Heros for sending these samples! We most definitely will be getting some bottles after trying these!
