Founded in the 1850s, Rusty Creek Farm is a six generation Holestein dairy farm located in the Champlain Valley. The farm was originally ran by the Bocare family until the 1960s, when Paul LaPierre married into the family and began running the farm shortly after. Today, the farm is owned and operated by Tony, Paul’s son, and his son, Alec. The farm currently houses about 500 lactating cows and an
additional 425 youngstock. The farm also markets Angus Beef, from there 70 cow beef herd for wholesale or retail. The beef graze in the summer and keep down surrounding untillable land and are housed with there dairy herd mates in the barns during the winter. Rusty Creek also crops about 1250 acres consisting of corn, alfalfa, and grasses.
