There were a few cuttings we grew that weren't quite big enough to plant outside this year, so they stayed in the greenhouse. Lo and behold, one of them decided to bloom for us just this week! 😍 Dahlias are pretty resilient plants, apparently, as these cuttings did not get any special treatment. We'll enjoy the beauty of RM Lure while it lasts!

All the dahlia clumps are officially out of the ground now and stored away safely in the barn. Roughly 8 full pallets full of crates this year! It was a busy few days, but we're glad to have it done. Even the dog was pooped by the end!

It's been a few weeks now since our hard frost/freeze. Last week we began the big task of dahlia digging... We had a little hiccup when our potato digger broke, but, thankfully, we were able to borrow an undercutter to get the job done! We have one more section to go of our 3,000+ plants, our special collection field 🩷 Almost there! 💪

Had to get one last bunch of dahlias before the hard freeze tonight! Last night we hit 31 degrees and frost burned a lot of the blooms, but I was able to find some beauties in our special collection field and save them. Always a bittersweet time of the year! Goodbye dahlias!

We got lucky yesterday and the rain stayed away! It was the perfect fall day and the plants finally reached peak bloom! Loads of beautiful blooms left the field and are now filling vases 😃 Thank you to everyone who came out yesterday!
