Over the last two years we have been blessed by the presence, hard work, wit, calm, grace, style, passion, and care of the one and only NICO! She was my first regular employee (originally a customer) and we interviewed for her position the day I went into labor. For the past 2.5 seasons she has made the farm work! Kept the farm alive and checked things off the never ending list and added so much joy and meaning to our days. She is off to do great new things and will forever be part of our farm and family’s story! Nico will definitely be missed dearly but we are excited for all the people, places and plants in the next chapters that get to be around her!

The 2026 Floyd Farm Trail is coming up! June 14th- 6 stops on diverse farms in the county. Our Farmlet is hosting mini workshops in the afternoon for plant nerds and kids. It’s a great day to meet your farmers and glean insight into growing food right here in Appalachia.

✨Small batch salad dressing✨ means:

🚐 Loading my van with the raw ingredients at dawn

🪴 Drive to my friends farm kitchen

🧼 Washing lots of dishes

🥄 Wearing a hair net and apron all day

🫙 Filling, capping, labeling, sealing and stamping every bottle by hand.

👅 Doing in house taste testing! This is big for us! we are working towards modifying our original recipe to meet shelf stable standards and move towards having a shippable product without having to add preservatives (just by changing the apple cider vinegar and lemon juice content!) 🤞🏻 we hope to move in that direction and be able to share the dressing with more people in years to come!

The season is starting to feel abundant! Our greens are so SO so very lovely this week.
