NOTICE OF DETERMINATION OF NONSIGNIFICANCE AND CONDITIONS FOR LAND APPLICATION OF BIOSOLIDS VIA AGREED ORDER

The Department of Ecology (Ecology) invites you to comment on a Fire Mountain Farms proposal to land apply biosolids at new units located in Lewis County. Fire Mountain Farms has requested to enter into an Agreed Order with Ecology, which will be used to ensure Fire Mountain Farms complies with requirements of the expired 2015 General Permit for Biosolids Management.
Ecology issued a Determination of Nonsignificance (DNS) on October 15, 2020 for this proposal. After review of a completed Environmental Checklist and other information on file with the agency, Ecology has determined this proposal will not have a probable significant adverse impact on the environment. Copies of the DNS and the completed Environmental Checklist are available at the web link listed below.
Fire Mountain Farms currently manages biosolids through a land application program. Biosolids are proposed to be applied to agricultural land located at the following locations:
307 Big Hanaford Rd, Centralia, WA 98531
874 Burnt Ridge Rd, Onalaska, WA 98570
1029 Burnt Ridge Rd, Onalaska, WA 98570
1799 Lincoln Creek Rd, Rochester, WA 98579
349 SR 508, Chehalis, WA 98532
Fire Mountain Farm’s Agreed Order and Site Specific Land Application Plans address the management of the material at these sites. Public notice will be posted at the potential land application sites for 49 days.
A public hearing and meeting regarding this proposal will be held online on November 18, 2020 at 5pm.
