We are very disappointed that we will once again miss our annual Spring visit Day. While there are currently no outbreaks in Lewis County, there are some in neighboring counties and we just can’t take a chance that might be detrimental. So… next year? In the meantime, our hatch is going well, and if you are on our list for chicks, Tony has reached out via email so if you haven’t heard from him, give us a call (he does not FB so calling is best option).

Friday fun photos…. It’s time for whistles.

We have an extra special post this Friday with a shout out to the Mason Middle School in Tacoma and Ms. Erica’s 6th grade class. They took the responsibility to incubate some emu eggs from our farm this spring as part of their Biology study. As you know from reading our posts these past months, hatching emus isn’t easy. They were successful and helped welcome a new wobbly head into the world. This is “Jake”, who has come back to the farm after the special care he received from all the students. They learned all about emus and we are very proud!! (In honor of their work we have named our first chick, hatched this week also, “Flo” so Jake has a buddy!) More pictures of the class project and some amazing “advice” the class has for Jake in coming posts. What an a special group of students. Go Mustangs!
