It’s been quiet on our end for awhile now.
We’ve been keeping ourselves extremely busy! While we still have our Brahma flock, we’ve begun to focus more on rescuing and rearing special needs chickens.

In March we adopted a blind bantam cochin hen.

In April we took on 4 crossbeaks and one hen with a permanent beak injury from a loving home who couldn’t keep them anymore.

May we took on a hen who had a broken leg. It’s healed now but she hasn’t regained full function of the leg just yet.

And just recently we brought home a one-eyed crossbeak and her runty friend.

We’ve been busy getting to know our new friends, adjusting to their feeding needs, and working their care into our schedules.

Their joy for life makes it all worth it.

For those that missed the memo, Bizarro Farms has relocated to Chehalis WA.

We are going to be separating out our roosters for the spring laying season soon.

You can expect to see eggs for Partridge, Blue Partridge, Black Silver Orange hatching eggs this season, as well as some barnyard mix for those interested.

For now, enjoy some photos of the flock settling in to their new digs.

Giving this boy another try to find his own flock before our move.

Fondly called “Yard Art,” this stunning boy is a bantam mix, slightly on the larger size but still fairly compact.

His mom is 1/2 Mosiac, 1/4 OEGB, 1/4 Bantam Wyandotte

His dad is 1/2 Millie Fleur D’uccle, 1/2 Mottled Bantam cochin.

“Yard Art” carry’s one copy of the mottled gene (courtesy of his father), and when bred back to a mottled bird will produce 50% mottled offspring.

He also shows a very small amount of fibro melanism from his mothers side, which could be more prominent in offspring if bred back to a dark-skinned hen.

This sweet boy does well with our barn cats and my small dogs, has free ranged but would also be happy in an enclosed coop. He currently is housed with four other roosters and does well with them.

He has shown no signs of aggression towards adults, however has not been around children.

Ten clucks (or best offer) takes him to a new coop. I could include a laying hen (likely a blue or green layer) with him for another twenty clucks.

Located in Lewis County WA, can meet within reason.

GONE

I have some roosters available and wanted to share here to see if there was any interest prior to taking them to auction.

Easter Egger rooster, between 3 and 4 years of age. We call him Jafar, but don’t let the Disney villain name fool you- he’s actually a sweetheart. He tends nicely to his ladies, and will hop the fence of the run in order to visit with us before going back to join his girls. We don’t typically pick him up, he’s not a cuddler, but we have had no issues with his temperament.
He has not been exposed to children, so I am not certain how he would be with them, but he’s a great rooster.
He currently flock-shares with another rooster, and is the more dominant of the flock. Given plenty of space and a proper, slow introduction, he has done well with several roosters over the few years I’ve had him.
I am asking t w e n t y d o l l a r s, o b o, for him. He’s one that I’ve been on the fence about keeping, but I really want ti take my projects in a different direction.

Barnyard mixes (one lighter colored, one barred)- these boys are a few months old and came to me in a batch of chicks. I’m told they are “half Banty and half regular chicken.” So far I am not seeing any issues in temperament from either boy, though they aren’t fond of being handled at this time. Asking f i f t e e n d o l l a r s, o b o per bird, would take t w e n t y d o l l a r s for the pair.

Bantam barnyard mixes. I had a hen hatch just a pair of chicks earlier this spring- of course both ended up being boys. Their dad is 1/2 D’uccle and 1/2 mottled bantam cochin.
The more colorful boy is out of my 1/2 Mosiac, 1/4 OEGB, 1/4 bantam wyandotte hen. Hatched from a light tan egg. He’s already so stunning and I would keep him if I weren’t downsizing, he’s going to be absolutely gorgeous.
The little blue boy is out of one of my 1/2 Silkie, 1/2 Easter Egger hens and hatched from a blue egg. May carry the blue egg gene but not guaranteed.
Both of these little guys have feathered feet. They were raised by a broody hen and haven’t been handled much at all, but I am able to easily grab them in the evenings off of the roost with only mild fuss. Asking t e n d o l l a r s, o b o per bird, would take f i f t e e n d o l l a r s for the pair.
I would be especially interested in updates on the little Mosiac mix as he grows.

Attaching photos below, labeled with which birds are which.

Located in Lewis county, can possibly travel to meet on weekends, but depending on distance may ask an added gas fee.

Also willing to trade for chicken feed.

Thank you!

Lewis County.

Starter flock of Speckled Sussex looking for new roost.

Rooster, approx 2-3 years old. Photo is not current, he now has a bit of scar tissue build-up on his waddles due to him taking an unauthorized stroll and scuffling with another rooster through the fence. He should be the only rooster over a flock, whether he is the only rooster on the farm or cooped separately.
He has done well with my family and myself, but is not good around children per his previous home (I acquired him due to a move, not for behavioral issues).

Hen, approximately 2years old. Lays lovely tan eggs.

2 “bantam” hens (not extremely small) I believe they’re also approximately 2 years old. Frequent layers of sm/med tan eggs.

Asking e i g h t y d o l l a r s, obo. Willing to barter/trade.

Starter flock seeking new roost.

Black Copper Marans cross rooster. Just under 1yr. So far has been very docile with my family and myself but has not been around children Currently shares hens with an older rooster and would likely do decently with another rooster once the initial introduction period is over.

Two black Australorp hens, approximately 2-3 years old. Lay tan.

Black Easter Egger hen. Approximately 2-3 years old, lays a blue/green egg.

Asking f i f t y d o l l a r s, obo. Open to barter/trade.

Starter flock looking for new roost.

Naked Neck rooster from dual-purpose rainbow egg lines. Has been docile with human, however has not been around small children. Currently co-runs a flock and is the low man on the totem pool, would likely get along with another rooster after an integration period. Approximately 1-2yrs old.

White Leghorn hen. Approximately 2yrs old, laying (white eggs).

White Easter Egger hen. Approximately 2yrs old, laying (blue eggs).

White Rock hen. Approximately 2yrs old, laying (tan eggs).

Asking s e v e n t y d o l l a r s, obo. Willing to trade/barter.

We will be downsizing fairly drastically this summer to focus more on our Brahmas, with a side focus on Marans.
We will still have a handful of projects but will be narrowing our scope quite a bit.
Mostly going to be starter flocks that will not likely be separating.
Most boys will be listed with at least one lady, will not be sending ladies off without a rooster until all my extra roosters are placed.
Will be willing to part with roosters without added hens.

Will be open to barters and trades: bonus points if it is feed related.

Keep your eye out, the listings are coming.

EDIT: Due to H5N1, a bird flu that is currently spreading through the state, we will be holding onto these girls for the time being. Should we be among the lucky ones to dodge this nasty disease this season they will be available again later this year- likely at a different price point.
With very few exceptions no live birds will be entering or leaving our property this year, however we will continue egg sales so long as we feel safe to do so.
As always we do not meet on our property for bio security reasons and this will continue to stand.
Thank you.

Anacona Pullets

Purchased these little girls hoping to add some fun patterns into my dual purpose flock.
Three of eight have very crooked toes. This does not affect them in doing their normal “chicken” tasks but because we sell hatching eggs we try not to keep any birds that have issues that could possibly be genetic. It is likely that this was cause of incubator error at the hatchery but without knowing for sure it would be best to place them.
They are currently being raised by a broody hen and are out in the coop. Likely will need supplemental heat for another few weeks but are nearly feathered. Six available

Ten clucks each. Fifty clucks if you take all.
