It’s a well-known pattern that flower sales boom in the spring and fall — and lately I’ve been wondering if there’s a little biology mixed in with all the obvious reasons why. 👀🌸

I’ve noticed a pretty sharp uptick in Bloomery’s social engagement over the last week or so — more followers, more likes, more flower people suddenly appearing.

What is it about seasonal transitions? 🧐

Humans are photoresponsive to some degree — changes in day length can influence mood, energy, attention and behavior.

Add on the seasons themselves:

Spring 🟰 rebirth, gardening, growth & getting back outside.

Fall 🟰 abundance, harvest, nesting, decorating and that instinct to gather beauty before the season changes.

Layer in our cultural rituals on top of that, and maybe our thirst for flowers during these transition seasons isn’t entirely random.🤔

Maybe flowers just hit differently when nature itself is changing — and we’re wired to notice.

So go ahead… follow your inner cavewoman/caveman calling. 😂 Gather something beautiful while the season is abundant.

🌸 Fresh Bloomery bouquets refreshed today Parlee's Farm— they’re closed on Mondays, so get ‘em today! These are full of fun and flowy favorites— including DAHLIAS!

Four daycare teacher appreciation bouquets headed out today 💐

While making them, I found myself thinking back on all the bittersweet transition moments experienced with my own boys — now 19 and 21. So proud of them growing up… while simultaneously wishing time would slow the hell down. 🥹

And it made me think: moms deserve flowers too.

So this order came with a surprise fifth bouquet — just for Mom. 💕

Because sometimes flowers should simply say, these are for you.

Flower fun fact: sunflowers aren’t actually one flower 🌻. That big center is made up of hundreds or even thousands of tiny individual flowers called florets.

A little nerdy, a little magical, and very on-brand for today’s Triangle Market & Deli restock.

Two options this week— zinnia bouquets $12 or 2 for $20, standard bloom bouquet $25 or 2 for $40.

Self pay— Venmo, ApplePay, Debit/Credit

The Bloomery is popping up at the Sunflower Festival!

I’ll be bringing fresh, locally grown seasonal flowers — whatever is looking best from the field that week. No two harvests are exactly the same, which is half the fun and also half the chaos.🤪

Last year had a great turnout, and this year’s event already has a lot of interest, so it should be a fun, busy Saturday!

Come wander the festival, shop the local artisans, grab food or a drink, and stop by for flowers while they last.
