Well, Spring has Sprung.
The weather is sunny, rainy, stormy, all at the same time it seems.
Here on the farm, lots happening, and sometimes feels like nothing.
Babies. Babies. Babies.
Calves running and playing, learning to eat grain and grass.
Lambs and kids everywhere, even in my kitchen on bottles.
Some re-freshening of flower beds, to attract pollinators.
Prepping the ground and large tubs for the freshest veggies.
Canning favorite recipes.
Making all natural goat's milk soaps.
Getting ready to participate in the FarmersMarket Chelsea yet again. 16th year of meeting new people, sharing ideas and of course, the freshest farm raised goods.
A life long dream coming true, with lots of both good and some not so good.
But we are grateful to live this life and realizing our dream of growing and raising our own fruits, veggies and meats.

Almost the end of winter. Spring teasing weather.

Plans for planting crops.
Soap to be made.
Start canning up again.
Much to do.
Can't wait to get going!!!
All with the love of God.

Spring is trying to make an appearance.
Calves romping, kids being born.
Grass slowly coming in. Trying to get into the growing areas ready to plant, but rain every week keeps things really wet and hard to get the tractors in without getting stuck. So a little late on the potatoes, but see how it goes.
Lots of canning from the fall produce that was stored after harvest in the freezers.
Fresh batch of soap, made and cured, ready to go.
New recipes being tried.
Lots to do. Grateful.

Update on the farm:
Goat breeding, cattle breeding, a bunch of new calves on the ground, and more in the making, to arrive soon. Addition of a couple dairy cows for nurse cows, when needed. I may even consider milking for fresh milk for ourselves. Other livestock getting thru winter like the rest, waiting for spring.
On the planting front:
Getting organic matter spread in preparation of planting, some general cleanups. Seeds listed as to what's needed and a planting plan being scheduled. Always working on fresh items for the farmer's market table. Almost time to make more soap, first to render the fat.
Working all too slowly on firewood, but the animals come first.
Equipment repairs and maintenance always going on.
There's a bunch of beef available for sale, roasts, some good steaks, hamburger, even some pork. Send me a message for more info.
Grateful for this farm life.

So I have 4 assorted beef roasts, sirloin, chuck, skirt steak, and an arm roast available. Along with 30 # hamburger. Beef bacon.
Pork: there is ground pork, bacon, ribs and sausage.
If you are really interested, message me. I'm ok with making a mix meat bundle. Price will depend on what you choose to put in the bundle.
Also new potatoes.
Salsas, relishes, pickles and more. Made from veggies grown right here on my place as well.
All natural, raised here on my place. Pick up here.
Started taking orders for beef sides as well.
Thank you !!!

Currently taking orders for sides of beef for fall butcher dates.
Or just meat bundle orders. Some pork available, mix some pork and beef bundles.
If interested, send a message. Thank you !!!

Planning to ship out steers in the nextcouple weeks. There will still be availability for sides. But I'll need to get butcher dates, which is no problem. However, I would really appreciate a little notice. Looking at the fall to butcher, unless wanted after a month or so, for freezer storage for the winter.
In other news, there is also ground pork and sausage available right now, plus hamburger, ready to go.
Veggies are available at the farmer's market on Saturday mornings. Different items weekly. Call me to pre-order meat, and I'll bring it. Or come by with a cooler and pick up here.
Like with everyone, the weather is difficult at times. We are doing the best we can. Hope to see you soon. Come say hey, and thank you!!

Spring is trying to make an appearance on the farm. From soap making to canning, to goat kids and calves. From all natural meats raised on the farm to prepping the ground to plant, to can the fresh produce. Come on Spring !!!

Spring is really trying to make an appearance on the farm. But the weather is confused a little. In any case, spring calves, baby goats to include one on bottles and planting. Animals.
Been working on catching up from last year's ill health and brush with death. So really busy around here. Cleaning up where needed and lots of flower seed planted, strategically. Waiting for certain annuals to be available.
A bunch of cool weather veggies planted.
The men have done lots of dirt work to get ready to plant. Tons of organic matter tilled in. Large potato patch ready to plant, until it rained. Hoping in a few days planting. Sweet potato slips ordered by the hundreds. Seeds ordered by the pound.
Inside, a bunch of projects getting done and finished. New recipes being tried. Getting ready for the canning season. We are blessed for sure, and grateful. Happy Spring all!!

Fall update.
First, so many thanks for all the prayers and whatever you may have done to help, while I was under with the Covid virus. Most greatly appreciated.
So, getting the place cleaned up some with many odd jobs to prepare for winter.
Weaning several calves, getting older cows up to the barn for winter. Securing the pens with goats and remaining sheep ram. Winterizing tanks, pumps and so on. Earth work in the growing areas, and trimming overgrowth. Planting assorted bulbs and harvesting cool weather vegetables.
As always, cattle are a big worry with the cold and snow. But faith is the way to go here.
Getting a bunch of small projects inside done.
Reminder: farm raised meats, beef and pork, handmade soaps, available with a phone call.
Steers available to stock your freezer.

Holiday pies available on request.

Happy Thanksgiving. So much to be thankful for.
