I don't say alot about Silky but I should. This mare is priceless. And honestly she isn't my horse she is Ricks. He picked her and paid for her. And interesting all those years later his 2nd horse is Dickie her son.
Flying W Farms Blue Silky Bey aka Silky 21 years young.
She was very naughty when we first got her in 2009. I remember Janet saying she was really bad when she foaled and would strike and try to bite you and she wasn't kidding. But she hadn't met me ;)
I went in that stall when Joey was born constantly and messed with him. She was openly hostile at first. Earned her being tied And alot of treats. And within a couple of days she was fine with me. Wasn't fine with anyone else. Now she is very protective but she is fine and has been since Joey.
The years have gone by. She has had some INCREDIBLE foals so many National and World Champions. Doesn't matter who the sire is she is one of the rare ones that outproduce on any stallion.
These foals have all been titled National or World titles. She has others like Lulu who is here but never shown.
Zephyr Woods Billy Joel
Zephyr Woods Mustang Sally aka Danny (RIP)
Zephyr Woods IMA Freakin Butterfly
Zephyr Woods CooCoo for Cocoa Puffs aka Cocoa
Zephyr Woods Fruit Loops aka Loopy
Zephyr Woods Capt Dick Viking 4ever aka Dickie
Zephyr Woods I choose life aka Sid
She knows her name and when I go to catch her she pretends she doesn't know me until I say Silky then she does that sigh and stops. She gets treats for it and that is probably the only reason she stops. I know if anyone tries to catch her she gives them a run for their money ;)
She is in foal for 2027 to Cash for a repeat Dickie God willing. Even if she never has another foal I am so indebted to her as I have all her daughters but Butterfly who is very spoiled with her owner. And of course we have Dickie.
Picture from today with her absolute favorite friend Turtle. They are attached at the hip.
Love my Silky and every single foal she has ever had.
