No Till Flower Farming isn’t always pretty. There are a lot of blisters, lots of working long hours during the hottest parts of the day, driving for hours delivering the flowers, picking, making bouquets, and countless other tasks that go unnoticed like the one in the photo: using a broadfork to loosen up the soil. Loosening the soil up this way takes a long time and is hard work but it is the healthier and safer alternative while building permanent raised beds. The alternative is rototilling the soil and all the plant material back into the ground which destroys the food soil web and all the microbes and fungal life that you created during the grow season. So for the health and well-being of the soil that gives us all the life we require to live, I’ll help build you back up one broadfork stroke at a time!
