Congratulations to Qualla's Employee of the Month, Dewayne Conard!

Dewayne Conard comes from the Cataloochee community and has been part of the Qualla Enterprises team for just under a year as a Facilities Technician. He is passionate about growing cannabis and managing the environment to ensure happy, healthy plants, and he is an ardent advocate for the medicinal benefits of cannabis. In his free time, he enjoys getting outside, being in nature, and enjoying the journey life is taking him on - and he thanks God every day for all He’s done and shown him in his lifetime.

Dewayne hopes to have a long, stable career with Qualla Enterprises in which he helps the company grow and improve. He loves working at QE because it feels like a community, not just a workplace, and he feels good seeing the wider community benefit from the work he’s helping QE do. The team feels like family to him here and he wants to return all the help and support he’s received from the team in his work.

Quote from Management:

"We are proud to recognize Dewayne for his outstanding dedication, positive attitude, and commitment to excellence. He consistently demonstrates professionalism, dependability, and a willingness to go above and beyond whenever needed. His strong work ethic and team-first mentality make a positive impact on everyone around him. He was vital in the dispensary HVAC upgrade project and worked long hours that were completed mostly on a sunrise shift. This project was a huge success due to Dewayne's dedication and hard-working attitude. He has worked hard to make sure that all HVAC needs are met, including installs and proper maintenance that allows QE to maintain and surpass the high standards that we set forth. He recently attained his Universal EPA license that will help with all aspects of HVAC for the company. Whether assisting coworkers, taking on new challenges, or helping to ensure that daily operations run smoothly, Dewayne exemplifies the values that make QE successful. His contributions do not go unnoticed, and we are grateful to have him as part of our team. We see a great future ahead of him here at Qualla Enterprises."

Congratulations to Qualla's Employee of the Month, Edwin "Sam" Crowe!

Sam Crowe is from the Big Y community and is a proud EBCI member. He is excited for the opportunity to work for a tribal entity like Qualla. In his spare time, Sam offers minor plumbing and handyman services and enjoys working on cars as a hobby mechanic. Sam joined the team at Qualla because of his personal interest in the cannabis industry, and he hopes to one day move up into a supervisory role (or higher) with us. He loves the atmosphere at Qualla and enjoys coming into work every day, but he said that his coworkers are the best part of working here. He enjoys the company of the people he works with and the sense of community they all cultivate here, and we're thrilled to have him as part of the team as well!

Quote from Management:

"Sam is an honest hard worker; he never fails to step up to any given task and he's always looking to improve and accomplish more than the days' worth of work. Sam is always the first to volunteer a helping hand when needed. He's a great team player and he showcases excellent leadership skills. Sam is always in good spirits, willing to learn new things and help anyone & any department. We think he has a great future ahead of him here at Qualla Enterprises, LLC."
